@ssbliss44:  I would just return it an buy one in your size. They did give you the wrong size so it’s their mistake.

Enzoani leaves quite a bit of fabric in the zipper area. You will be fine letting it out.

if you bought it at a discount, I doubt the store will order you a replacement (they’ve already paid for the dress you bought). You could ask them to pay for letting it out, but most stores wont do that because they have had brides try to charge them for ALL of the alterations (not just the problem area).

If you have time, you could return it for a refund, then buy a size 10. If not, I would have it let out, and negotiate a partial refund with the store. $100 would likely be sufficient to compensate for letting it out.

Good luck!!

I would have the dress let out! The other (potentially simpler) option is to have it converted from a zipper back to a corset back. This will buy you several inches all the way down to the hip if you need it, and you’ll be able to customize the fit on the day of with the corset. Any good bridal seamstress should be able to do either alteration without damaging the dress, so as long as you work with a reputable seamstress who has extensive bridal experience, you shouldn’t have to worry about it being close to your wedding date! I agree that asking the seller to compensate you part of the cost to cover the alterations is fair; if you thought you were getting a size that would fit you, then you weren’t anticipating those specific alteration costs.
