First of all, that is BEAUTIFUL!!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the grey…it really pops in an elegant way.  Have you ever thought about blue shoes?  It’s a little funky, but it would take care of your something blue, and grey and blue go together really well.

These ones have an accent on the toe that would maybe match the grey dress:

You could do something like that.  If you do a google search for blue wedding shoes or blue bridal shoes, a ton of shoes show up.  You could also do a really dark silver or pewter.

I’d love to see pictures once you decide!

Ooooh those boots are soooo cool!  You could always get shoes like the ones in the second link and do a lil DIY bauble work.  Take off the yellowish thing on the top and put something grey (or blue or whatever color you want!) on the top instead.  What’re you colors?  I just started really getting into my planning this month (my wedding isn’t until June 2012 so I have some time.), so I’m loving all of the details posts like this one!!

Woot woot we’re dress twins!!! Except I’m actually removing the belt altogether :0

I recently saw a bride on SMP who wore some gorgeous taupe suede Steve Maddens. I think the taupe is a good balance between the grey/purple tones in the sash. It’s a fairly “in” color at the moment so I would think you could find something really cute and affordable πŸ™‚

We’re dress twins!! Yayy!! But I got the ivory sash with mine.  I’m wearing the Calvin Klein Pretty in white (it’s actually more ivory than white), but to find my wedding shoes, I ordered every pair that looked good on Zappos and returned all the ones I didn’t want.  They do free shipping and no taxes so it’s like bringing the shoe store to your house hehe.  I think a lot of it depends on where you’re getting married (in/outside), how dressy you want it to be, if you want a matching shoe or a colored one, and how much dancing you plan to do.  I went w/ the shoes that were most comfy, had the heel/platform I wanted, and have a little sparkle, just like the Diana.  In my opinion, the dress is so lovely and intricate (especially with the grey sash) that you don’t need to go crazy/colorful with the shoes.

@Happy_days:  Thank you!  That pic is from my first fitting, which was last night.  I’m still so in love with the dress πŸ™‚

I had considered making it strapless, but the lacy straps on the Diana are so pretty and unique that I decided to keep them.  The ladies at the boutique said the vertical lines of the straps make me look taller too and being 5’1 I need all the help I can get!

I am planning to get a French bustle, since the train is so long and I want to be able to dance.  The only other alteration, besides getting it hemmed a couple inches, is that they are going to attach the belt to the dress so it doesn’t have the “bow” sticking out in the back.

And as for the veil, I am going to do a simple, one-layer veil that is slightly longer than elbox-length on me.  I’m also going to have a hair piece that is basically a smaller version of the embellishment from the dress’s belt, which will be on the opposite side from where the flower/embellishment is (so, belt’s embellishment on the left, hairpiece on the right).  That way I can take the veil off after the ceremony/first dance and I’ll still have a pretty hair piece in.

Sorry this is so long–I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I feel like the bridal shop I went to had some great suggestions.  Good luck with your shoe hunt!

ETA: I gotta add, I don’t know if you picked out Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses yet but Enzoani Love dresses are sooo gorgeous.  My girls are wearing A15 in blush.

@Happy_days: More than beautiful- gorgeous!!!! Well worth being way over my budget, haha!

I would totally be doing a taupe shoe as well if I had grey in my color scheme, or if I was keeping the belt. My colors are blush pink, peach, ivory, muted browns and soft green/turquoise. Very dreamy and romantic. So I’m going to buy some rose gold metallic shoes and DIY glitter them a rosy quartz type of color. Basically just a copycat of the glitter Christian Louboutin shoes πŸ™‚

My bouquet is going to be a mixture of blush parrot tulips, ivory astilbe and cream stock.
