No, I wouldn’t go too heavy. Makeup (except airbrush) can settle into lines and make you look older. I always do my eye makeup first and then set it with my foundation. It helps your eye makeup last longer and it really makes your eyes look bright because it’s applied to your natural skin, not the foundation. Also, if you are going to do a bright lip or a shimmery eye shadow go easy on the rest of your face. Hope This Helps.

I DIY’d my makeup too for my engagement pics. Here’s a pic.

Yeah, I would go ever-so-slightly heavier on your eye makeup if you want it to stand out. I just did a tinted moisturizer for my skin and then used really soft eye makeup and lips. I do wish I would have gone just a bit heavier on the eyes, too.

I am a photographer and my advice is as follows:

Go a little heavier on the foundation, and add a bit of powder to reduce shine.  Don’t overdo eye makeup, and make sure it’s not clumpy.  DEF wear waterproof mascara in case your eyes tear.  Bring lip gloss for touch ups and try to add some color to your lips so they don’t look washed out.

Be careful with the powder, it does help reduce shine but it can’t also wash you out and settle in lines.

Oh and find a nice bronzing powder.

I wish that I had.  I did my regular amount of makeup and it looks like I was wearing none.

@ms.oregon.state:   Don’t go dramatic with eyeliner necessarily.  Do falsh eyelashes.  Put on heavier eyeshadow and definitly over-do the blush.

@KateByDesign: Yeah. Be careful with heavy eyeliner, it can make you look harsh in pics. Think Kate Middleton, love her but she goes way too heavy on the Kohl liner.

I would go a smidge heavier but not a lot. It’s a long day. I always wear a face primer before applying my make up. protects your skin and your make up will last longer.

I don’t do liquid foundations I use bare minerals but I find when I use my setting powder (lightly) it eliminates shin and also keeps make up lasting longer.

you should only ever emphasize either your eyes or lips. which do you prefer?

make up also depends on season, location and time of day : )

Good luck & I am sure you will be beautiful!!
