I need some help finding escort card holders. We are doing a wish tree and having the escort cards double as wish tree tags. So basically the front will have the guest name & table # and stamped on the back it will say “best wishes”. The tags will of course be pre-punched with ribbon. The wish tree will be the centerpiece of the of the escort table with the escort cards lining either side of it. I think because of the ribbons being attached already that the escort cards should be vertical but since they will be flat I will need a holder of some sort. I’m also thinking something that is low so that the fit nicley under the branches as our branches are more willow like and drape. Also looking for it to be realiativly cheap. Our theme is more of a nautre theme with tree centerpieces and the colors are green/chocolate.
My first thought had been those tree branch rounds that seem to be so popular. I like that idea but was also wondering if there were any other ideas out there. I’d might even be happy with simple low clips but I can’t seem to find anything that is not theme related.

You could use small binder clips. Just remove the little metal part like in this tutorial… http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/table-card-holders For escort cards, I would use the smaller binder clips though. Very low budget.

My colors were chocolate and green too! I made this:
using baskets I got from Hobby Lobby. I filled them with moss and stuck each one in with a copper pick I made from wire. Hope that helps!
edit: Here they are @ the ceremony, without the flowers and decor yet:

Hotwings ~ the link takes me to the diy page but not specifically the tutorial that you are talking about. I’d love to see it. Can you tell me what page it is on. I’ll scroll through all 146 pages if I need to but would rather not.
twocatcupcake ~ You’re cards are really cute. I wish I could see inside and see the moss and wire picks better.

I found a diy blog that used copper wire and river rocks to make table numbers. I’m toying with the idea of doing something along those lines.
If I did these I would make them shorter of course. I’d also clean up the lines a little bit as I’m not fond of the squiggly stem. I do like this because I have used copper embossing on the menu cards and the centerpieces will have river rock so it kind of ties everything togeather. Hmmmmm.
Anyone else have any other ideas?

My plan (that I know I’ve seen pictures of somewhere, but didn’t save) is to get a couple large picture frames from goodwill or a flea market. Paint them in my wedding colors, and then run lines of twine across them. I’m going to hang the escort cards from the twine with small clothespins.
I haven’t totally decided what the escort cards are going to look like yet. Something I can cut out with my Cricut.

buttontoes ~ I’ve seen pictures of that also. I think it could look very pretty. I also have to say that I am super jelous of you having a cricut. I’ve asked for one for Christmas the last three years and still don’t have one. Maybe this year. lol!

I had planned to do the picture frame thing mentioned by buttontoes but, as it turned out, you need a really large picture frame for that to work. So, I got two flower pots, filled them with river rocks to weigh them down and put some poles in the middle then attached thin ribbon between them and hung the escort cards with clothespins. It is not low but it is completely flexible and also easy to remove once everyone takes their cards.
