    I think it is a good idea, but I don’t think you need to write a note next to them explaining the idea

    I like the idea as well and also don’t think you’ll need a note explaining it. You will probably want to include SOME sort of favorish thing with it, if for no other reason than to make sure guests actually take them. I might not think it’s very important to pick up an escort card that has nothing but my name on it, and you’d be sad if at the end of the night, a whole bunch of your hard work was still sitting there untouched! If I got a hershey kiss with it too, though, now we’re talkin 🙂

    I’m doing something very similar, for the reasons you talked about.  I did make a chalk board that says ‘take your card to save your spot’ or something like that.  The place cards i made are super cute though, and I really hope people understand what I am trying to do and use them.
