Hey again Ladies.
I was originally planning on having an informal style cocktail style reception for our destination wedding in mexico, but lately I am finding i’m wanting something a little more formal… I’ve been trying to get my creative juices flowing before I meet up with our wedding planner on April 6 to start figuring out small details and have come upon 2 different styled escort cards for the big day.
First style would be a leather luggage tag hanging off of a cork board or a tree (or something) and inside the luggage tag would have writen everyones names and their designated table number. The guests will be able to keep the luggage tags as their favor. I’ve been pricing this out and this idea will run us at about 5 dollars for a leather luggage tag (per guest) and about 3 dollars per luggage tag (per guest) if we go with a chrome styled tag. Our guest count will be just over 50 guests.
The other option would be… as the guests are showing up the the reception space, there would be a table of cocktails and mocktails (mocktails for the children) with straw tags with everyones names and designated table number on it… once at there table… we would have a little favor sitting on everyones place setting (I was thinking little jelly bellys)… this would probably run us a little cheaper but I havent really figured this out yet.
As a guest, which would you prefer to have/see at a wedding and as the host… which would you like to do (i’m looking for something unique, fun, and something that follows our theme)
Thank you Ladies, here are some photos of my ideas…
Sorry about the large photo 🙁

I voted other. I think the drink is a cute idea for an escort card. I think you can forget about the jelly bellies at the table.
I need to declare my bias that I think most favors are a complete waste of money. Even a nice luggage tag may go to waste as some people already have a nice set of matching tags.

I think the drink is a super cute idea, but only if you know that all adults are alcohol drinkers. Otherwise, it might be wasteful of perfeclty good alcohol. I would skip favors if you do the drink tags.
I wouldn’t love a luggage tag, but I’m not a fan of favors in general.

I can envision people touching the straws when trying to find their name, so I vote no drink escort cards. I love the luggage tag idea and I would keep that favor.
Maybe have the favor/escort tags and a table with fresh drinks as people walk in?

I agree about wasting money on things people don’t need/want. I think the only kind of favor that is worthwhile is something edible, haha. But I still wouldn’t bother with it. That being said, if you really want them, I would go with the drink and the jellybellies.

I like the drinks in theory but if people have to kind of touch other peoples drinks to find theirs thent hat would turn me off drinking it. Plus I dont drink alcohol anyway. I think the tag is something that would be used by everyone eventually because most people travel at some point or the other.

I think drinks is tough because a lot of it might be wasted. Like PPs, I think favors are kind of a waste of money. If I flew to Mexico, I’d most likely already have a luggage tag…
