I liked our escort cards and they were super easy to do, but what is your theme?

How many tables will you have? I think if you have a lot, traditional escort cards lined up alphabetically are best.

Escort cards are much better logistically. With a chart, they are often printed very small and create traffic jams, in addition to people forgetting where they are supposed to go on the way to their table.

Generally, they are arranged alphabetically on a table. What kind of cards are you planning to use?

@Mrs.RDV:  I got the design free online and reworked it a touch by erasing the center ( It was our Initials) so I could add the names and left the initials design on the back with the table numbers on the inside.  I just printed them on 4×6 card stock and folded them in half with a boning tool and corner punched them.  So easy and cost me about $4.

I am personally a fan of escort cards over a chart.  I would forget where I’m sitting before I got to the table if I didn’t have the card with me – I’m just clumsy like that though hahaha.  Here’s what I’m doing!  I definitely stole this photo from imeondesign on etsy if you want to order them, but I’m just making mine by myself!  My only caveat with doing them yourself…I learned that I’m going to have to glue a magnet or something to the bottoms because they blow over SUPER easy, and our place card table is inside of a door.  Just another idea for you!

I’m planning to do a ribbon board. We’ll have a lot of guests, so we’ll put them in alphebetical order with their table number on the back, and the color of the paper will signal their meal choice to the caterer. Something like this and this.

Haha, @indibee: beat me to it.  We plan on doing a ribbon board so we can incorporate the best of both worlds- escort cards so people know where to go, but a board to keep it organized and simple.
