Personally I would probably make a chart.

Escort cards would be cool, but I think it might be trying to get all of them to fit in one place…. or how you would display them.

I would do escort cards.  You only need to do one card per couple and they would be spread out more, so your guests can find their seats faster than on one large chart.

Good luck!

300 is HUGE. escort cards may be easier compared to a chart as people can trickle in and pick it up but a chart would make people hover and try to find their names and may take long if they have difficulties finding it.

i was thinking for my 125 people, i was going to have a chart or place card table but in my program which is a booklet of about 4 pages will have the chart so people can look for their names when waiting for ceremony to start or during cocktail hour.

Either really, I think this is more a matter of style taste.

And like another poster stated, you won’t have 300 escort cards just one per couple/family – that is if the family is sitting together.

Cards for sure.  Can you imagine 300 people standing in front of a chart trying to figure out where they are seated?  With cards, they can pick it up and keep it moving.

I think a seating chart would be easier on you. Keeping tracking of 300 seating cards can be a pain.

I would do escort cards. A seating chart may be easier for you but in the end it will take much longer for everyone to find their seats and thus eat into your reception time

I would do escort cards. I agree that people would take longer standing at a seating chart looking for their names than just picking up their card and moving along.

I agree with such a large wedding that you should do escort cards.  Just easier for the guests to find their names and head directly to their table.  Imagine Grandma Betty first locates her reading classes, finds her name and table number, starts towards her table, runs into Cousin Sue and chats a bit, makes her way into the ballroom and can’t remember her table number?  Now she has to trek all the way back out to look her name up again.  For smaller venues/guest numbers I can see a chart being a great idea, but with such a large number cards would be the way to go.
