You should write them the same way you wrote the invitations.

I think we’re doing like you are – full names, woman listed first.

We’ll do the same as our invitations: “Mr. & Mrs. John Smith”. For people bringing guests, we will write “Ms. Jane Doe & Mr. John Smith”. I’m assuming they’ll tell you their guests name in advance…?

@NJmeetsBX:  I don’t think it will confuse people. If I were a guest, I would look for my last name, then, if it wasn’t where it “should be” alphabetically, I’d just look for my date’s name. It would take, like, 5 extra seconds. I wouldn’t worry 🙂
