Chaitea:  I usually wear a size 6. So it’s pretty much true to size (which I have read that Maggie typically is).

I bought an Essence dress. I wear a street size 14. Essence dress ordered in size 14. Perfect fit!

Chaitea:  essence or essence of Australia? They are two different lines from two different companies and they get confused a lot. I even had a saleslady try to sell me an essence dress as an essence of Australia.

I work at a bridal salon that carries essense.  They run only a tiny bit small compared to other designers.  Personally I would be sized about one size up from my smallest size.  Also, it’s typically not the best idea to measure yourself, because it usually isn’t accurate.

They can stretch out, but the dress in the picture is a newer style I believe.  It would take a lot of trying on to stretch it out to a considerable difference.  The 6 looks perfect on you, it isn’t creasing anywhere, which is a tell-tale sign that a dress is too tight.  If yours comes in and it’s a tiny bit snug then I would wear it in the shop for a bit, it will stretch a tiny bit as you wear it in alterations as well! What style did you pick.  In the absolute worst case senario a seamstress could add a corset to it, but I think the 6 will be perfect!

Usually 4 or 6 and they ordered a 8 for me. I was concerned at first as well.
