TheGridMonster : that is the exact product I found!! Plus there are tons of companies that apparently make essential oils that are kid safe. I have never even used essential oils before kids so I’m literally clueless. But it seems like the negatives could outweigh the positives so I’m going to try the sleepytime lotion and hope it’s just a phase 😂

My son is similar age – almost 8 months. We did sleep training at 5 months because literally nothing else would work – he wouldn’t nurse to sleep, we could rock/sing him to sleep but he would wake up the second we put him down, etc. We used a method where we went in and checked on him after 5 min of crying, every 5 minutes (the theory being he wouldn’t worry about being abandoned, he’d just be mad about having to put himself to sleep). For us it worked well, and he now sleeps through the night ~2/3 of the time and the rest of the time wakes up once. I know there are other methods that don’t involve letting them cry as much/at all (the baby whisperer I think might be one?) if you are worried about that.
Depending how long this has been going on it could also be just a phase, a wonder week or something. You could try waiting it out a bit and see if things get better on their own if you don’t feel ready for sleep training. I would definitely want to ask your doctor about any oils etc before using them, I haven’t looked into it myself but have definitely read that some can be dangerous. Good luck!

No one knows if they are kid safe because there have been no clinical trials on children.
