I have a bunch of both, and like both brands. Essie has a thinner brush, OPIs brush is thicker..some people prefer one or the other based on the shape of their nail.

I want to like Essie but I find the brush super difficult to paint with.

I have a ton of OPI and Sephora by OPI nail polishes and I love them.

I used to be an OPI user and bought my first bottle of Essie polish a few weeks back.  I’ve since become an Essie convert!  Although Essie’s brush is thinner, I feel like the formula is thicker and more opaque and dries to a shinier finish than OPI.

However, OPI has some super fun colors and the thicker brush is definitely easier to paint with!

I used to love OPI but I find that my polishes get goopy after a while. I’ve never had problems with the Essie formula and it’s a lot easier for me to get Essie polishes in my area (:

I find that OPI lasts a bit longer but Essie has way more shine. I buy both regularly.

I just bought (well SO bought it for me) Essie “Boxer Shorts” It’s awesome. It’s a medium shade of gray-purple. Love it!

@sugarpea:  +1, OPI’s always go goopey on me, mind you, all we have to do is pour a teeny bit of nail polish remover and they get nice again. It’s just the point if I’m spending that much on nail polish I want it to last!

I was all about OPI until I got my first Essie and now I’m totally hooked! While there are a few colors on my (too big) shelf that I don’t love due to application, I’m completely in love with the brand as a whole! 🙂

I generally like Essie better. It lasts, and the colors are really nice. OPI has some nice ones too, but it takes a freakishly long time to dry.

I was told by a mancurist that essie seems to stay longer than opi on natural nails, once I tried it I agree. My favorite brand is deborah lippman but essie is my #2

I use OPI but only the Nicole Miller line….and definitely NOT the Kardashian line. On my toes, I use either Joe Fresh or Essie.

I finds that Essie is easier to get good results with.

Just want to let everyone know that my Marshall’s was selling Essie nailpolish for $4 right up at the register. Good deal! I couldn’t resist and bought 3 different colors. It will be my first time using Essie, but from what I see on pinterest, I love the colors and how they look.

Essie all the way! My old roommate had a ton of OPI polishes that I used to borrow all of the time, but I never really liked how it went on, and I agree that it took forever to dry.  Essie goes on much smoother (IMO), dries fasters, and lasts longer.  I also prefer their color selection.

I used OPI gel polish with the UV light. It’s the best on the market, I think.

I have a bunch of Essie polish I feel like it stays tacky for a long time.
