Ours is around $145, for ceremony/reception space, cocktail hour, reception dinner and bar (estimated amounts for bar as we are having open bar but paying by consumption). That doesn’t include things like Save-The-Date Cards, invites, postage for either of those, cake, DJ etc. SCARY!!

We will have roughly 110-125 guests.

Cost for food, drinks, AV tech, ceremony draping, and tables/setting/whatever else is $237/person.

Including decor, flowers, cake, and DJ, it’s $294.

We are having a destination wedding in Mexico, and if we hit our target of 80 guests, we will land at $157 per person.  This includes the venue fee, sound, lighting, all linens, ceremony and reception set up, plus dinner, appetizers and an open bar.  Our destination is only accessible by boat, so it also includes round trip transportation on a catamaran for all guests with an open bar on board.  This also includes all taxes and gratuities for staff.

I thought we could do it cheaper in Mexico, but for what we are getting, it seems pretty reasonable

Ours is $85pp ( usually $100), and includes buffet food, drinks, plates, cutlery, bar staff… all that jazz. It eats up about half of our budget! We don’t pay anymore money other than that for the venue.

Mine is NZD144 per person which includes food, unlimited drinks for 4 hours, staff, sound, lighting, linens, venue, arrival bubbles.  They are charging us extra $500 for the changeover from ceremony to reception as we are keeping everything in the same venue. We are in Auckland, New Zealand

£50 per guest with all of the venue costs included (dj, room booking and food and drink, it was about £42 for just food and drink).

$100pp for the venue, which included all food, unlimited beer/wine/soft drink, chairs/tables, linens, crockery/cutlery, decorations, all staffing costs, cake cutting, tea/coffee, sound system.  If we’d had a summer wedding rather than the very end of autumn, it would have been $140 per person for the same thing…

harleybeachbride6 :  when I think of the per head cost I think purely in terms of food and drink (and favours, I guess). While other things obviously add to the atmosphere/experience I don’t regard them as being guest-related costs per se.

Our food and drink costs for our day guests (UK bee) was about £155 a head, which covered 5 canapés, 2 welcome drinks (1 mimosa and 1 prosecco), 1/2 bottle of wine or 3 beers, glass of champagne, 3 course meal with choices for each course, large evening buffet, and open bar from 7pm-2am.

Our evening guest costs were about £60, for the open bar and evening buffet.

Our food and drink costs came to around £9.3k for 62 in the day, and roughly the same in the evening (we had a few additional evening guests, but some of the day guests had left so it averaged about the same). Total wedding cost (excluding the rings and honeymoon) was around £25k.

I think generally per head usually means venue (food, drink, staff, and venue fees aka everything you pay to the venue) but some venues such as golf courses around here may include dessert, basic decor or even some more inclusive venues that include floral and DJ.

Our per head for just venue which was about 50% of total wedding cost was $130/pp inclusive of every penny we paid them (including tip). Contract also can be written different per venue. My venue quoted just $30 in food/pp and our bar was $XX in alcohol but everything was itemized seperate such as rentals (linens, place settings, coffee urns, etc) and staff (each one chefs, bartenders, servers, lead server) so we could see exactly what they were charging for.

I remember in Father of the Bride with Steve Martin he had a cow over $250/head. I wonder if that was all inclusive or just the at home reception hahaha

$100 pp which was the entire cost that we paid to the venue. That included hor douevres, open bar, plated meal, desserts and wedding cake, linens, ceremony and reception venue rental, and tax and gratuity. I was pretty happy with that price given that we are in the Northeast right outside a major city and had less than 50 guests.
