i understand what you mean but by not inviting her it could cause the tentative progress they have made to go backwwards.

i come from a shattered family, my sister (and her 3 adult children) havent spoken to my mother in almost 15yrs, i had to choose what side of my own family i wanted for our post wedding celebration party and before we decided on eloping i told my sister that i didnt even know who to choose to invite to my own wedding – it sucks and my thought is its only 1 extra person so its not a big deal in the scheme of a family in the process of reconciling

goodluck!

I am sorry, but It hink you should invite her. It doesn’t matter that you have “people that you know that cren’t invited”. It would be rude to invite your gma and not your aunt if they live together. I also think you should be honored if they make amends at your wedding after all these years. You should feel proud that you played a part.

Usually when bride/groom pay for their own wedding, I am ALL FOR them doing whatever they want, but this seems like a special opportunity that I don’t think you should miss. Ask yourself the real reason why you don’t want to invite her. Is it because you think the attention might be off of you and onto them?

What kind of ‘drama’ are you expecting? Some hugs and a few tears as they all enjoy your day with you? This is actually a GOOD thing for your family to be together that day. I’d rethink my decision and include her.
