I thought to chime in… I have a 5 stone e-ring but with stones graduated in size. I think it looks more engagement-y when the center stone is larger. I’m also size 5.5 and the ring is very comfortable to wear (I can close my fingers easily).

To add to my previous post before; if you plan on stacking other bands with it in the future, consider the width. A larger weight band will be taller and wider than a smaller weight. I’m not sure what kind of finger shape you have but my tapered stubs don’t lend a lot of room for multiple bands of wide widths lol just throwing that out there as well. I also like PPs suggestion of a large 3 stone, low profile and gives you the spanning finger coverage your after without the hassle of the larger half eternity.

Exibit A is my wedding bands stacked (with finger bloat lol)

Exibit B is the three stone example

I love that idea! I think you should get whatever you love! Try on bunches of rings at different stores and update us. But for sure do a band with same size diamonds, so chic and unique while still being classy. Love love love the look you’re going for!

My e-ring is a 5 stone ring. Half hoop erings were a thing back in Victorian Britain.  My ring was passed down from my FIs Grandmother – it was her ering. My FIs Mother has a half hoop ering as well (diamonds and rubies).  My FIs family was from England so I love the sementality of that.

I have larger fingers – size 7.5. The diamonds are OEC so they face up a little different than modern cuts. It is 2.5 carats TCW.

Do I like it?  Omg I love it. Some of the things I love:

It’s unique.  I have never personally seen anyone IRL with an ering quite like it (other than my future MIL).

The sun could be shining down and one diamond might flare yellow while the one beside it flares blue. A slight rotation of your wrist in the sun and I have all the colours of the rainbow shining back at me. I really love that.

It doesn’t get caught on things. I’m still careful when I put my hands in my pocket but I have never snagged it on anything.

It is substantial.  I love the finger to finger wall of sparkles 😉

it is comfortable to wear.  I don’t think I could stand an eternity as the rubbing between my fingers would mess with the ADHD sensory thing I’ve got going on.

I get a lot of compliments on it which, of course, feels nice.  I have been a jewelry lover since I can remember, as are the rest of the women in my family.

If you love the look, get it. Absolutely!  I have 0 regrets.  Be sure to show us if you get one :).

Here comes the spam

I love the idea, but agree that you will want to be careful about the stones pressing on the side of your fingers. That might be ok when standing in a jewellery store, but not so nice for real life.

There have been some gorgeous examples shown here!

kbee123 :  I thought I would add to the 5-stone pictures already in the thread. I have a 5-stone band that I sometimes wear alone or with a plain wedding band. It’s not my engagement ring. It was a gift from my husband when I was shopping for a band to go with my 15 year anniversary ring. It turned out that I don’t love the combo of those two, but I love the 5-stone on its own.

My band is about 1.2 carats. I’m a size 7.

Even with a larger finger size (not to mention my somewhat “cone-shaped” fingers — ha, ha), I feel like there is a decent amount of finger coverage. I sometimes wish it was a 7-stone, but that probably wouldn’t be as comfortable. This band is really comfortable, and it’s easy to switch things up with different additional bands.
