I went for a half eternity for comfort but also because you cannot resize a full eternity which worried me, as I want to be able to wear my wedding band forever. I just thought I’d mention it as I didn’t know this before I started shopping for bands.

I have a 3/4 eternity band. It looks like a full eternity band, but there are no stones along the bottom 1/4, so no stones to get banged against anything. The 1/4 that is metal also enables me to have the ring re-sized, which you can’t do with a full eternity band. And my stones are bezel, rather than prong set, so the metal is smooth. No scratching, irritation, etc.

@lovekiss:  I didn’t know that there was 3/4 eternity.  That’s a great idea.  Fiance & I are trying to find matching bands (harder than you’d think), but if that doesn’t work out, I’m going to look for 3/4.

I have two Wedding Bands.  A Diamond one and a Plain one.

The Plain one is called a Domed OR Round Comfort Fit.  It is slightly higher in the middle than the sides / edges (domed) vs being flat.  And it is rounded on the edges… and again on the inside a bit, so that it fits / fees comfortable on my finger (no sharp straight bits)

My Diamond Band is made similiarly (infact by the same Large Chain Jewellery Co).  But it is inlaid with diamonds… in a Half Eternity layout.  The diamonds are channel set so they don’t stand out… and don’t get knocked about a whole lot (as I do tend to be hard on my hands / jewellery in general)

I personally wouldn’t want a Full-Eternity Band… as the stones on the underside would most definitely take a real beating… in reality that would be all the stones, cause with such a band, there would be no clear indication of which side was up.

IF I was to get another Eternity Band… (lol, lets hope Mr TTR doesn’t read this, cause he would surely wonder why I’d want another sparkler to add to my ring finger)… next time I’d look for one that has a different setting than the one I have now.  As there are many different ways they can set stones in an Eternity Band… Channel – Bezel – Prong etc.  I do think that the Prong Set ones… are truly gorgeous.

Hope this helps,

PS… As I said I have a Half Eternity… a 3/4 Eternity would never work for me as I have chubby fingers… so there is a lot more ring that needs to wrap around in the back (hope I’ve explained that right).  Thinking they’d be good on relatively long and slender fingers.  My best advice is as always… TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.  Jewellery is such a personal thing, and differs greatly from person to person… both in what one likes as well as what suits you.

TO @nl:  My band is a Half Eternity Half-Carat (tw = .55)  The band width is aprox 2.5 mm, and there are 10 Diamonds in a Channel Setting so each stone is aprox .05 carats

It looks great and I LOVE it.

Here is a pic from my Wedding.  Shows BOTH my WBands (as I described in Reply # 5 above) and my ERing

Hope this helps,

I have a full eternity wedding band and honestly think it’s perfect!  I have 0 problems!

@nl:  I find eternity bands uncomfortable. I wear a semi eternity band on my right hand (small diamonds), and when the ring spins when my fingers are cold, the diamonds/prongs rubbing against my finger is actually painful! I wouldn’t want a full eternity – seems like a waste as well as just plain painful. They look pretty, but I don’t think they’re for me. Half or semi eternity are my preference.

@AshleyR83:  Oooh! I love it. Did you ever post a wedding recap? I’ve always loved your e-ring and this is the first time I see it w. a wedding band. Congrats!!

@canarydiamond:  Aw, thank you!  Ugh I did not post a wedding recap!  I haven’t really been on here much since my November wedding.  I should totally post one!  The only problem is I want to remain pretty anonymous so don’t want to post a lot of pictures.  Excited to say that Style Me Pretty Illinois (I live in Chicago) featured our wedding, and a Chicago bridal magazine is going to publish us in print!!!  😀

@AshleyR83:  Oh wow, that’s great! I know what you mean about remaining anonymous, though. Your wedding sounds spectacular 🙂

@nl:  I think it depends on the setting too. Like channel set would likely be more comfortable, but it’s not as “in” as pave rings. Bezel likely would be fairly comfortable as well.

TO @nl: Re – Setting Types (Replies # 9 and # 11)

Whereas a Channel Set Band is totally comfy… nothing to rub.  It just feels like my plain WBand, except it glitters !!
