aross :  I voted for the smaller one. Although the larger one is beautiful, and it would have gotten my vote had you only posted the up close picture of it. In the two other pics of this band taken a little further away, I think it kind of takes away from your solitaire. Especially once I compared to the pic of the smaller band. Your diamond looks bigger to me with the smaller one, It compliments your ring without competing.

I like both but that style of eternity band can be fragile. Have you considered a 1/2 band?

aross :  my jeweler talked me out of the eternity band. He said he’d be more than willing to sell it to me as it meant more money for him, but that he advised against it. My half band barely spins, especially compared to my engagement ring. So I just adjust both if I notice my center stone resting against my pinky.

I also think the half band is more comfortable.

The 12 pointers, while beautiful, overwhelm your 1ct solitaire. But I think you could go a little bigger than the diamonds in band 2. I’d look at a band with maybe 7-8 pointers for your solitaire.

As far as a full eternity, it sounds like the jeweler was trying to up-sell you. A properly sized ring should not slide. With a full eternity, you won’t be able to re size it. Also, you can (and will) still chip diamonds in an eternity band. If you don’t want to do a half eternity, you could always do a 3/4.

I also voted for the smaller one I think it looks better with your ring. I have a full eternity band I believe it is about .76tcw.

aross :  No problem! I hope you’ll come back and post more pics, if you do keep looking! You have good taste and I think your instincts were right about not going with a full eternity, although of course that’s totally just a matter of preference.

i love the size of the .12! they balance out nicely with your ering stone size. Half or full band is up to you but i think the smaller stones dont hold up enough and I usually error on the side of simple taste and not wanting to be over the top but i just REALLY like how those stone sizes look together!

on a side note i have a rose gold solitaire and want to also go with a band like yours! are you going with plat.white gold? i want to do the same – i love mixing metals!
