We have dealt with (imo) so many etiquette faux pas throughout the planning process, and we’ve also experienced some of our guests faux pas at other weddings that we’ve attended together. My fiance tries to make some excuse for the guest, which makes me feel like I’m being crazy, but someone tell me I’m not! Here are things that I don’t think you should do at a wedding (things that we’ve experienced at other weddings or are have experienced during our planning) :
* You should not wear a white poofy dress as a guest
* You should not go into labor on the dance floor
* You should not bring your 1 day old baby to show her off
* You should not stand on a table and announce that it is your birthday
* You should not push the flowergirl into the ground and snatch the bouquet from her after the bouquet toss
* You should not announce your engagement
* You should not announce your pregnancy
* You should not ask if your new stripper girlfriend can be added to the guest list 1.5 weeks before the wedding.
Am I missing any? Ok rant over. Thanks for listening!

I totally feel you. There have been white silk dresses on twenty-somethings at the last two weddings I’ve attended. Blah! Who does that?
Man, your flower girl one is bad! And the labor… eek!

wow, people can really be self-centered when it comes to weddings!

WOW! Can’t believe you’ve witnessed all of these…..you’ve been to a lot of eventful weddings (to say the least)!! Yikes.

* You should not propose and become engaged ..
lol. I saw this happen.

You missed this one… do not announce your impending divorce at the wedding rehearsal in church! I had that happen to me by one of my bridesmaids. My brother calmly escorted her outside and told her that that would be the last we would hear of it until after the wedding!

O-M-G, agreed. You’ve really experienced or seen this stuff go down? I can promise you I’d freak the freak out at my wedding if any of that was to take place!

I really dont like it when people make other announcements at a wedding. I mean yes Ill be happy for you but cant you wait just one more day? PLEASE!?!?

I haven’t actually been to that many eventful weddings — most of them come from 1 really crazy self-centered guest. She’s done something at every wedding so far, so we know something is in store for us. We’re pretty sure she’ll announce a 3rd pregnancy. Oh wellz, what can you do?
I just wish Fiance wouldn’t make excuses like “Oh, but she’s really superstitious about the bouquet toss, and she’s been wanting to get married so badly”. GAH! Sorry Fiance, but that is not an excuse to physically assault a little girl!

OMG. Seriously, you’ve seen these things? It’s like the stuff of nightmares.

@futuremominlaw: Your brother sounds awesome. perfect response.
Yikes though to all of the above! I can only add that you should not abandon critical pieces of clothing (such as pants) on the dance floor for my mother to gather.

You should not wear a dress SO tight as a guest, that after you’ve had a little too much to drink you end up splitting it so far up the back while you’re dancing we can all see what’s under there (in her case, not much). And please…no lap dances!

Lol! Yay girls, keep it coming.

LOL ditto the “no tight and bright” dress.
In general I like when people wear the size clothes they are supposed to wear, not the size they want to wear.
I can’t believe you’ve seen all those! How awful!
