My mom is collecting RSVP’s for my upcoming wedding. My wedding date is July 19th so we are still a month and a half away. My mom said she got a decline today, but they included a check with the RSVP. I’m assuming I shouldn’t wait a month and a half to cash it (?) but when do I send a thank you card? Now? When I send all the othe thank you’s (probably no more than 2 weeks after the wedding). Idk what the protocol for this is?

You should cash it right away but not spend the money until after the wedding. You should also send a thank you card ASAP.

kl1987: Deposit it now and send the thank you now!

Agreed! It gives you the perfect opportunity to mention how you will be able to enjoy their generous gift on your honeymoon!

I agree with PPs. Deposit it and send a thank you now 🙂

Rather than tell them that you will enjoy it on your honeymoon, I would tell them that you will put it towards purchasing something for your home. Not everyone feels that wedding gifts should be used to finance the honeymoon.
