LilliV : i dont think its law in my state.. But i just cant get behind the fact that i should let the guy going at an ungodly fast speed whiz past me, especially if im minding my own business doing the speed limit. And the majority of the time those people dont know how to stay in the fast lane to begin with and want to weave in and out, or want to ride the bumper to the point where you almost cant slow down and get over for them to pass.
i know people will defend that right of the left lane being the speeding lane, but i think the majority of people just take advantage of it and go almost too fast in it.
cops are horrible in my area though, they NEVER sit on the interstate, they make more money off catching speeders on smaller roads.

Where are you located??? Everywhere I’ve been in the US the left lane is the passing lane, never the middle because it’s bad to pass people on the right. I assume would be flipped in countries that drive on the other side of the road. I’m guessing by your use of foot path that you’re not American…missviolet92 :

missviolet92 : the opposite is just as bad! “You’re due in a month? Are you sure? Is the baby measuring okay? You’ve had an ultrasound? ” ugh.
Just dont comment on peoples body. Period.
The other day waiting in a waiting room and a guy comes in and hes watching some sports game on his phone, super loud, no headphones. Rude!

AnonBee2019 : the amount of people who comment on my body/weight when they know I’ve had an eating disorder is pretty astounding.

mrspuppylove : this! My baby is 50th percentile for growth so my belly is still quite small at 5 months. So many people have commented that 1. I don’t look 5 month pregnant and 2. Oh you’re so small.
Which leads to anxiety on my part that my baby is okay! Thankfully dr said everything looks great, but honestly. Just don’t comment on a woman’s size during pregnancy or otherwise.

julies1949 : of course. I don’t pretend to know foreign driving rules though I had assumed it was more uniform within the US was my point.

I dont know if this one gets broken a lot, but my pet peeve is people who show up way to early for something and people who are late. I get that once in a while things are out of your control but perpetually late people make me crazy.
Same with people who are too early. Years ago I used to host a luncheon for a book club. Book club rules is the hostess (it changed monthly) was to provide the space, the main course dish and beverages, members brought a side dish, and their books.
I would have a certain member showing up at my house one hour before the luncheon began and I would still be in the shower. Or those who always arrived late while we waited on them to show up with the remaining side dishes. Its nerve wracking.

Kslim13 : If you are in Florida as mentioned, it is the law in your state and has been for ~5 years. It’s illegal to block the left lane from someone who is overtaking you, regardless of speed (there are a couple exceptions like if you’re about to turn left or you’re in the midst of passing someone yourself). They haven’t enforced it very often, but hopefully they’ll continue with more stings in the future to get rid of this type of behavior because it’s extremely dangerous.

Texting and driving. This is illegal in Canada (where I live) and the number of people who do it is insane.
As other bees have mentionned commenting about kids (when are you gonna have them/pressure from family). I struggled to get pregnant and my mom would constantly pressure me, finally I broke down in tears and told her what was going on. I think most people don’t realize what a heartbreaking question this can be.
Also it annoys me when people take public buses and don’t thank the driver. My ex bf used to make fun of me because I used to stop talking to him on the phone when I was getting off the bus to thank the driver. It’s common courtesy!
Also please and thank yous. This is huge when I travel to the states, I notice that americans in places I’ve travelled to do not say please and thank you as much (for example ordering at starbucks, I would like a grande coffee please, I rarely head a please!).

mrspuppylove : Someone at the waiting room I was in was doing that last month, watching a crime drama series like Law and Order on speaker phone! There were screams and gunshots and everyone could hear. In a freaking hospital / CT scan waiting room. How insensitive is that!! What if someone was in the hospital because they were shot? Ugh.
– Asking about having a baby / anything weight related. My dad has been jokingly on our case about kids and I broke down to him one time because I had just gotten my period 4 days late when he had asked. Or now that I AM expecting but can’t tell anyone yet, I still have to keep lying like.. soon, soon, we’re working on it! I wanna be like “well I threw up all day I just can’t tell you til next month!”
– 100000% yes to driving slow in the fast lane! They should be giving more tickets to this. HUGE pet peeve of mine. So dangerous!
– Any bad / clueless / slow drivers to be honest. I have some driving anxiety / road rage for sure. Not using blinkers. Slamming on your breaks to merge or turn. People who don’t use the turn out when they have a line of cars behind them in a single lane highway. Then half the time these drivers are so clueless they have NO IDEA they are inconveniencing other people! You pass them and they’re just like “du du du..”
– People on the phone in public using ear buds, I have actually responded to someone’s sentence before thinking they were talking to me and they looked at me like I was the weird one
– When there is a line at a restaurant / drive through / Starbucks and the people wait until they are at the front of the line to decide what they want! You have had 20 minutes to stand there and stare at the menu..

Guilty. I try really hard to be ready but I’ve done this when I’m at a new place and the menu is hard to read until you get right up close to it. Why do they make the print so tiny?!

In my state you’re technically not supposed to exceed the speed limit when passing (which somewhat negates the idea of a “speed lane”). It annoys me when I’m in the passing lane going ~5mph over the limit and someone is riding my ass because they want to go 10+ over the limit. Ya can’t get mad at me for driving legally.
kiram : I strongly disagree! Not okay In my opinion to go only 70 MPH in the fast lane of a 5 lane freeway if you have the ability to be in another lane. To be honest I would be riding your tail too and be rather annoyed. It’s actually a bit dangerous, regardless of if you are the one abiding by the law or not. This is exactly why traffic exists, because people don’t follow proper flow / momentum.
