Km0629:  Have you checked David’s Bridal..? I was in there recently to try on a bra and they had some very pretty sequin dresses, They weren’t BM’s dresses but more MOB or Special Guest dresses, but worth a shot. You could also try a prom retailer!

Have you looked at places like Nordstrom? Those aren’t really a typical bridesmaid dress.

Yes! I bought my girls’ dresses from the Etsy shop called harsuccthing. She had 1,000 reviews with a 5 star rating so I figured it was worth a shot! Each girl took their own measurements, sent them to me with $90 for their dress, and I placed the order. They arrived from China about 3 weeks after the order was placed and they’re PERFECT. There’s no difference between them and my $250 Watters dress that I wore as a Bridesmaid or Best Man for one girl’s wedding!

What’s your price range?

I think you could find what you are looking for at a department store…. or look in the “special occasion” section and not bridesmaid. Even some mother of the bride dresses could work, honestly.

Here are some dresses that I found that you might like…

I’ve bought everything for my weding through Etsy. Literally, everything down to the candles. I have my wedding ceremony dress and reception dress made custom from a Chinese Etsy shop. My ceremony dress has come in and looks just as pictured, and I only needed to have one minor alteration done. My reception has not come in yet as I ordered it a few weeks after I ordered my ceremony dress. I love, love, love Etsy. That being said, research your Etsy shops, read reviews and look at their return policy. Most shops has GREAT return policies, while I guess there’s some out there that have strange ones. If you are ordering a handmade dress, most Etsy shops will gladly make dresses for whichever color you like, just ask them about it before you buy. Some will even custom design and make a dress for you, or will make a dress from looking at pictures, and the prices are fantastic!

Soletta Vita (part of Essence of Australia group) has platinum sequin dresses. From internet searches the pricepoint is around $250 USD.

Also, you could try Rent the Runway, and see if any of their sequin dresses are grey. Price points around $80.

Macys just had some dresses exactly like that on sale. I tried one on, it was fabulous but I felt a bit too fat. They might still have them

To answer your question, yes we ordered custom dresses from an Etsy seller in China (no longer listed) and they were perfect!

However, ours didn’t have embellishment. I’d read the reviews carefully because sometimes things like beading and sequins show the “cost-effectiveness” more than simpler designs.

Glad other posters had other suggestions for you!

I ordered my dress from an etsy seller in China, it should be here soon and she has excellent reviews and ridiculously low prices. I know she does custom work, if you want I can let you know how it turns out
