I ordered the hair flower I plan to wear for the reception from HARTfeltart and I received it quickly and with no problems.  I plan to order my invitations from SomerStudios after ordering a sample.  I loved the sample and I had no problem with the seller at all (and they’re reasonably priced invitations!).

I got my flowergirl basket and ring bearer’s birdnest from Yandebridal

I got a hair flower from butterflyenchantress

I also got butterfly place cards, vintage-like painted table numbers, and jewelry pouches from a few other sellers. Every purchase has been wonderful–with the exceptiont that I thought that place cards seemed a bit overpriced… but nothing really worth complaining about and my table numbers took over a month to ship!

I adore etsy.

TessaKim – bridesmaids hair flowers/feathers. Haven’t got them yet, but she’s been amazing to work with and oh-so quick.

PaperAcorn – luminaries w/ our names. Very reasonably priced ($45) and high quality

BrillanceFound – bought 4 puzzle piece necklaces for my bridesmaids (they’re my “missing pieces”). Again, very professional, reasonably priced, and beautiful

Sdbrynildsen – pinwheels for the aisle. They were very helpful and wonderful…however, a bit overpriced.

We’ve bought several things from Etsy, and had mostly good experiences. I think that for Etsy, kind of like for Ebay, you need to screen carefully. Check any seller reviews you see, convo the seller with any questions, and be sure to contact them ASAP with any problems or concerns.

My Fiance and I have had good results with the following vendors for wedding-related things:

  • Little White Dresser, where we got my headband. Beautiful work, easy sale, and it came in very quickly considering it had been shipped from Israel to the US!
  • April Ink, where we got a customized version of a guestbook poster to work with. She was very open to customizing the text of the poster for us, good job on follow-up, pleasant, and I like the finished product.
  • ACJ Inspirations, where I got vinyl stickers like these for decorating wine glasses (for my bridesmaids). Fast shipping. In fact, the seller accidentally sent me the wrong package, mailed me out the correct order the day after I informed her, and told me to just keep the mistaken one.Great to work with!

We had mixed results with Zoe & Doyle for my FI’s wedding ring. Lovely, lovely, ring! Excellent craftsmanship, good fit, nice packaging, and an all-around great product. HOWEVER, the time and communication were NOT so good. For an idea of the timeline issues, we were told the ring would be ready in about 10 weeks. It actually took 16 weeks (4 months) to get in!! Note, though, that the seller admits to a long turnaround time and that the reviews say that this is the case and that communication can be a problem with them. We’d read the reviews and kind of expected this, so we ordered early.
I also ordered our cake toppers from Etsy seller Naked Peggies, but we haven’t gotten them in yet (not the seller’s fault at all- we only recently ordered them and they are a custom item).

I love etsy, but I had a bad experience with the first seller I ordered my bridemaids’ jewellery from. A month and a half after I ordered it, and 4 months after I first contacted her (it took her months to put up a reserve listing for me, which should’ve been my first clue), the jewellery still hasn’t shipped it out, but she promised a refund yesterday, which I’m still waiting on.

Anyway… my point is, I found an amazing replacement seller (themustardseedco)! She completely took care of me. She apologized for the other seller (who she didn’t even know), promised to make and ship my jewellery within a week, and then when she realized I was in Canada, bumped me to the top of her list and shipped it out within 3 days! I don’t have the jewellery yet, but her customer service alone is stellar

FI’s e-ring came from lootbox (local for me), who will also be custom making the bridesmaids’ necklaces.

FI’s ring came from QuiltedPony – custom design.

Ketubah came from Jen Raichman (custom).

Guestbook poster from sweetcarolinadesign.

Invitations from pasaiipaperie

All have been amazing and I love have custom-made items.

NEEDLESS to say I have a huge Etsy addiction now, I can’t believe I never knew about it til I got engaged, and in fact I think the Bee is what got me on there in the first place!!  I’ve had great sellers, one even lived just a few towns over and we met so I could just pick up my order from her!  LOVE it!

Always make sure you check a seller’s feedback before buying. If they are new and have little or no seller feedback, buyer beware. Also, make sure you read each item’s description thoroughly before buying. It’s easy to be disappointed with an item if it’s not the size or color you were expecting, but that kind of confusion is easily avoidable.

I got my invitations off of etsy from LittleLadyBugPress and she was AWESOME! I was involved in the entire process of designing our invitations and she always consulted with me before changing something or adding something. She asked me about colors, materials, etc. She gave me a timeline of when our invitations would be shipped and she was exactly on time. Everything was PERFECT when they were shipped to us and we got so many compliments on our invitations!! She also designed our monogram which is an “R” with a dandelion and she sent me the pdf file so I could use it in other places – I have since used it on our programs, itinerary cards and stickers for welcome bags

I also bought cufflinks for Fiance off of manmadedesigns they are 4 leaf clover cufflinks with real 4 leaf clovers that he presses into cufflinks. He sent them to me in like 2 days and I was able to choose either shamrocks or 4 leaf clovers. He was so reasonably priced too.

I also got my garter from gartergallery. She was selling a set that was a toss and a keep and I only wanted one for half the price. She did that for me as well and created a custom product and it shipped really quickly. She sewed a little blue ribbon inside the garter for a “something blue” and it looks really good!

LOVE etsy!!

I’ve had nothing but GREAT experiences with Etsy! I love it so much and I’ve recommended it to all of my friends! I’ve bought:

shoe clips – evieandpiper

Cufflinks & Tie Slide – Initally Me

Pom Poms – PomLove

Invitations – FeliceDesigns (Shannon was AMAZING to work with and her invitations are so cute!)

Favour tags & Stickers – seasonaldelights – such beautiful paper products

Beautiful Vintage hair clips – emmjeyeyessvintage

Awesome Battlestar Galactic Tee for the fella – nwshirts

All of my transactions have been with lovely people who take great pride in their products. I’ve always been more than satisfied with the quality of the products and the speed in which they’ve shipped – especially seeing as they’re shipping to Australia. Etsy has been such a huge part of my wedding planning and I LOVE IT!

More etsy love – I feel like I couldn’t have done this wedding without it:

  • Jewellery rolls for my girls – CraftyStitches
  • Personalized stationery for one of my girls – DotsAndDahlias
  • Personalized necklace for one of my girls (great if one of your BMs is a mama) – ERiaDesigns
  • Hair flower – SevenfoldSpirit
  • NHL garters (keepsake and throw-away) – crystalcreationsbyj
  • Tiffany blue flower corsage for my bridal shower, which was so gorgeous we later ordered matching flowers to tuck into my flower girl’s dress at the wedding – Nomsa
  • Ties – rabbitstop (she makes great ties, but make sure you’re on the same page with colours. I asked for tiffany blue and got sky blue and had to return it, which took some back and forth and was really stressful. But I did keep my fiance’s red tie, which is awesome quality, and you can’ t beat her prices!)

I haven’t received all of these things yet, but all of these sellers have had great communication and I’m very excited to see the things I’ve yet to receive!
