I only needed a bouquet, so i took myself to Hobby Lobby and found exactly what I was looking for. I wanted succulents and other non flowery things in my bouquet, and was quotes over $100 at the florists.

I bought fake silk everything, including wire cutters, floral tape, and the ribbon, for $61.00

I sent my mom a photo of the bouquet and she thought it was real. No joke. I’m pretty high maintenance and picky, and they’re gorgeous, and not cheap looking.

I will say I was there for well over an hour playing w different combinations, but if you’re willing to do the work it’s totally worth the effort, and the savings. Plus I’ll have it forever, which I liked.

Here is a photo for reference. They might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it fits perfectly for our theme and I have quirky taste and love it 🙂

I considered getting a perserved flower bouquet from etsy.  Not exactly the same but similar.  They look really pretty online at least.

I went a different direction but I have bought some fake flowers from ebay tho that are VERY realistic (the roses especially are very nice and they were CHEAP buying direct from China).  There are also some places like Afloral.com and save-on-crafts.com that sell really cheap, really quality flowers.  If you go the ebay way, ask to buy a sample flower first.

I bought silk and did it myself! I have done other silk bouquets before though. Here are pics of my bouquet and my Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets. I also made my boutineers, but not sure I have pics handy.

I was so going to buy flowers from etsy but seriously so expensive. For $90 (with supplies), I made my own… Flowers from Hobby Lobby

I bought silk for my wedding. Most of the flowers came from Michaels, a couple things from afloral.com, and some other stuff from a local floral shop that had some silks. My mom (OK, mainly my mom) put them together and I thought that they turned out great!

retrometro:  No way.  I usually would never consider anything other than real flowers but your silk flower choice would have me reconsider.  They are lovely.
