@LibrarianBride:  Have you looked into IeIe Bridal? They’re based in NJ. I’ve been working with Wendy, who’s been fabulous so far. The fabric samples I ordered were high quality, too (way better than some other samples I ordered from China). I also liked that they booked only a certain number of dresses per month so they don’t fall behind on orders. https://www.etsy.com/shop/ieie

@LibrarianBride:  Ting Bridal is located in DC.  I actually met with her in person (super sweet lady) when I was thinking about having a dress made.

@novacaineandlaughter:  Can you tell me more about your experience? I’ve looked into that shop a lot last year and there were some questions I couldn’t resolve by reading  reviews on her. I didn’t understand how she could run a boutique (with her gowns) and also take so many etsy orders (she has at least 2 etsy stores from what I recall) as a one-woman show. There were also mixed reviews about the quality of her work. You are obviously happy with your dress, so that’s awesome! How long did it take and what was the communication like? Did you get production pics or anything?

@LibrarianBride:  Sorry I can’t be of too much help. I know of a NYC designer but she outsources production to China. I believe she can make stuff in-house but it has to be simpler designs (she told me that my dress could be made in house but the quality of work will be better using her Chinese factory).

@LibrarianBride:  Are you open to china? Ive had 2 gowns made from an etsy seller and she is AMAZING. Literally AMAZING. Affordable, quick, and responsive. Ive loved both gowns. Here are photos of them:

Each dress cost me around 550-600$, which is SO affordable and she has dresses that are 200-400$ as well!! If you have any questions Im happy to answer them.

Also, It took less than a month for each dress to be custom made and on my doorstep.

My dress was made by a dress maker based in the US (Blythe, Southern California). Her Etsy shop name is called Design By Lannette. She made me a custom made dress and veil. Both are stunning and of a really high quality. Great to work with but i know she is fast booking out for dresses to be made in 2014.
