I am currently having a custom ring made and decided to browse Etsy to kill some time. Well, I found a set I am in LOVE with the other day and now I can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve considered cancelling my custom order and purchasing this set (which is WAY below budget and super small (center stone) compared to the custom set, plus it’s 14k white gold and the custom set is platinum), so after discussing it with my Fiance and with my mother (they didn’t like the idea at all)I’ve decided to post this set here hoping someone will purchase it so that I’ll stop thinking about it. I’ve also considered just purchasing it as a “second” set but I have a feeling that I’ll end up wearing it 24/7 haha. I do love the custom set being made but this one is giving me ring regret! Here it is: https://www.etsy.com/listing/166187316/antique-diamond-wedding-ring-set-25ctw?ref=favs_view_1
I have a serious weakness for art deco rings. *sigh

This might not be helpful at all, but I’m not a fan of the etsy set! It’s too noisy, the details get lost!
And I’m actually a huge fan of deco rings usually!

+1. I usually love art deco pieces, but this is just too cluttered IMO. You can’t even see that there’s a center diamond, it’s being swallowed by the metal work around it. What will your custom set look like?

I love it! I have an antique ring and its so neat to stand out from the crowd.

+1 to the ring: no, no, no.

Can you edit your custom order to be more like this ring?

If you like it.. that is what matters, you have to wear it. we can all give our opinions, but they are simply that because each of us have different taste. I think it is a pretty ring, it’s not my taste, but that’s because I am not into art deco.

I love art deco, but that does not sing to me.

If it makes you feel any better, I really dislike it?
Do not buy! 😛

haha thank you ladies!!! Hearing negative feedback is what I was looking for, it is keeping me from making a huge mistake by cancelling my custom set :-)!! I’m not changing or cancelling my custom order, but I do think it’s a gorgeous set, maybe as a RHR set for christmas from Fiance :-)!!
I love it too (obviously) :-)! Like I said above, I’m going to try to get my Fiance to get it for me as a RHR set if I still love it in a month :-)!

Yay! You’re welcome! Hahaha

@MrsChristopher: haha my entire heart list on Etsy consists of Art Deco rings like that. You should stick with your custom design though.
I think it would be PERFECT as a RHR! Great compromise 🙂

@MrsChristopher: yuck, do not do it. It’s too busy and celtic looking.. It doesn’t even resemble an engagement ring!
But that is just my opinion, do what you love! I would stick to the ring you’re having made though.

I’m not a fan either. It reminds me a little of a class ring, from afar.. and it looks like sterling silver or patina’d platinum, not WG to me bc the metal is so dark. The setting is totally engulfing the center stone and it makes me feel a bit suffocated.
Stick with your custom design!!! It’s going to be something that is JUST for you and you custom designed it, so it’s exactly what you want!
