Here is what I would do. Have someone video you packaging the ring up and closing the box and putting it in the mail. Make sure you get close up video of the entire ring before you send it. That way, if she tries to say you damaged it before you sent it back, you can show video proof that she is lying. Good luck, I hope it works out!

That is a TOTALLY different ring for sure! The more I looked the more differences I could see. Definitely get your money back and complain to Etsy about the seller!

mrs110 :  If that’s kosher here, I’d also like to post that you shouldn’t buy from a popular jewelry seller with the initials GA (first word a precious metal, and second word shows affection).  My ring had been clearly broken clean through the setting and poorly repaired.  The seller made no mention of this, pretended to be surprised when we sent it back, and then relisted it again on Etsy with (again) no mention of it being busted!  So sleazy.

My Fiance and I are done with Etsy and went with a small jeweler in our town to get my ring.

OP, I hope you get this resolved!  *hugs*

If it’s fraudulent, that’s not a “no refund” situationn, it’s a crime. File a police report and stop payment with your credit card.

Yeah that’s not even slightly the same ring. How dumb do they think you are!! One side looks slightly alike the other couldn’t be more different. The face of it also looks really different. Tell them to take a running jump and don’t be bullied by her comments she’s being a cow.

mountaingoat84 :  Really? They have such amazing reviews. Is the damaged ring still up for sale?

mountaingoat84 :  My ring is from them and I am VERY happy with it and their customer service. Sorry to hear your experience was not good. Antique and vintage jewelry often has imperfections from wear and such but it definitely should have been disclosed it was broken or if there was anything beyond normal wear and tear so you could factor in repair/restoration costs and if that was something you wanted to take on or not.

I do a ton of silversmithing – and this isn’t a polishing problem. Crazy over polishing with a coarse grit sandpaper (which no sane person would do) could explain loss of some features, but there are some parts there that were thicker than they were before – and silver doesn’t magically grow!

my guess is that they cast a copy of the original – and if customers call them out they say it’s because it was polished. They made such a big deal of the polishing – makes me wonder how many other ‘vintage’ pieces they have that are just new copies??? Does this seller have a lot more vintage silver pieces???

amb1030 :  make sure you keep a copy of the tracking number so they don’t try to claim they didn’t get it!

MrsAL2012 :  someone bought it after they relisted.  It wasn’t symmetrical if you looked at the profile but I guess the new owners haven’t noticed.

mishybear :  I went and looked, and I do think they are casting (and not very well). They have quite a few silver rings that look a bit sloppy, some labeled vintage and some not.
