I sell handcrafted jewellery on Etsy and I wouldn’t say my prices are cheap they are very reasonable I think. I design pieces from vinatge jewellery and combine them with pearls and semi-precious stones. I tend to think the prices reflect the quality most of the time, but sometimes and I fall into this trap, that sellers are afraid if their prices aren’t low, they won’t sell with the economy the way it is, just my opinion. I agree do your research, I welcome questions for my items. I also sell to a few stores in my area, but Etsy is good for me as I get a larger audience and my items are one of a kind.

I have recieved a few lovely gifts on etsy that broke 24 hours later, $20 necklaces and other cheap but cute stuff.  I then googled a desciption of the iteam, and sure enough alibaba.com the (re)seller paid $1 charged $20+ for it.  I still buy stuff, but legit stuff not the re-sale stuff.  I also found a lot of stuff on there is homeade craft junk and even in the pics can see glue spots, stains, etc.  

I am buying some handmade jewelery for the elopement from someone who legit on etsy this month.
