I’d open a dispute ASAP.  That is just ridiculous that you’ve been waiting so long.  That’s 6 months now, wow.  I’ve had a few things custom ordered and they’ve come pretty fast.  I’m currently waiting for my veil now, it’s been a month and I’m about to open a dispute of my own.

Let us know how it goes!

I would open a dispute, as well. I would be worried with it taking so long.. There’s really no reason it should take THAT long!

You aren’t being unreasonable. She is now over a month late. From what you said she doesn’t contact you, and takes weeks to answer your questions. I wouldn’t trust her  at this point as her behavior is unprofessional on very level. If she is doing this with multiple customers her ratings will go down with good reason.

If I were you I would contact her and say given her behavior and the fact that she is over month late, that you will be be forced to go with another vendor. Because it would suck to get October or September and not have the time you need to get another custom cake toper. Hopefully she refunds you whatever you paid.

I would at the very least threaten her with a dispute claim. She is way past her own sceduled date, so I think you’re totally not unreasonable.

Unfortunately there isn’t a lot of action you can take as its been 6 months.  My advice would be to be kind in the messages and say that you understand that she is busy but you really need it soon since its so hard to keep track of everything you have been ordering for the wedding.  There is no way to file a dispute with paypal since there is only a short window to file a claim.  Also you cannot leave feedback now as there is only 120 day window on etsy.  At this point there isn’t any real reproductions for her, but there could be for you if somehow she gets annoyed.  I know it is very frustrating, but kill with kindness!

I’d tell her that your worried you won’t get it and need it by date certain (2 weeks) and if she doesn’t send it to you by then I’d open up a dispute with etsy. I had this happen (NWR) and the vendor ended up closing her store!

@Fsunicole:  Yeah, paypal refunded my money once I won my etsy dispute. It made me really sad to have to do it, but you don’t want to pay for something you don’t get.
