So at my grad party we were talking about rings in general since my friend chris was wearing his class ring from high school. He has huge hands and I have such tiny hands so we tried on each others rings. My tiny ring fit his pinky finger tip and his ring was beyond huge on my middle finger, it was pretty funny. Bf tries on chris’s ring and was like hey look it fits me perfectly. Then bf was like when I get a 300 in bowling I want to get a 300 ring. Then chris says shouldn’t you be saving for waterfall’s engagement ring? I can’t believe he said that out loud. Luckily I don’t think bf heard him.

I would have wished he had heard it. At some point the guy’s friends should start calling them out on it.

My guys friends tell him all the time that he should propose, marry and have kids with me! They can’t believe he’s waited this long. Even the one that is going through a divorce thinks he should put a ring on it lol doesn’t make my guy do anything though

I agree with @Everdeen:
, I wish he would have heard it, to put a bug in his ear about it. Hopefully he’ll take the hing and put a ring on it. Or maybe trying on each other’s rings was a sneaky way of trying to get your ring size???

I don’t know for sure if bf heard him or not, if he did hear it he didn’t say anything about it. I’m trying not to get my hopes up about anything though. I’ve stopped talking about it but it figures that our friend chris would bring it up like that. When it happened I was thinking “Omg did he really just say that?” I thought it was pretty funny though and I had to share it with all the other waiting bees.
He bought me a promise ring earlier this year so he should already know my ring size unless he forgot.

I hope he heard that- glad the friend is sticking up for you!

Too funny.. all our guy friends were dropping hints to him towards the end of our last semester of college. We had been together for almost all of college, so 4 years at that point, & 1 of the guys would always drop in a “car seat” comment anytime they started talking about cars, his coworkers would say something along the lines of “good luck & let me know when you’re getting married” when he would tell them he was moving to Ohio to support me through grad school. When all your SINGLE male friends are encouraging you to make it official.. that’s when you need to get your butt in gear & do it! haha. I wasn’t in any rush actually & wasn’t really “waiting” when he proposed about a year after that, but it was still nice to hear his/our friends commenting!
And, OP, I used to get embarrassed & had the “omg I cant believe he just said that” reaction when his friends would joke about us getting married or having kids, & my now Fiance would never really react to it, just kinda roll his eyes & laugh it off (despite that he was already thinking about it, but just wasn’t ready to propose yet) & never really said anything, but I think even if it can seem awkward at times, it does more good than harm & it helps to have a bug in your guy’s ear to help push him along a bit! 🙂

It makes me wonder…. If chris said that in front of me, what’s he saying when it’s just bf and him? Hmmm…. (I’m not letting myself get my hopes up though)
