just replying to see what others say. I am planning on having my ceremony around 4:30 pm and then walking to a restaurant for the reception.

@jessyrez:  How big is your wedding? That will likely have an impact on how long you’ll need for various activities.

We’re planning an intimate evening wedding for 50 people at an amazing small hotel and our timeline will look something like this:

4.30 – 5.15: Couple Photographs

5.30 – 6pm: Guests arrive

6pm – 6.20pm: Ceremony (on the pool deck)

6.20 – 7pm: Cocktails in the main lounge / Family photographs

7pm – 7.30pm: Bridal couple and family rejoin guests for cocktail hour

7.30pm: Dinner (two courses) in the private dining area

8.30pm: Adjourn to the “Members” Cigar Bar for toasts, speeches, cake cutting, dessert and dancing the night away!

Hope this helps 🙂 We may have to adjust timing here and there, but we’re flexible

@Boutiquebride:  That’s a pretty good schedule! I may have to borrow this in developing my own timeline! 🙂 We have a similar situation with a 6 pm ceremony and a 7:30 reception due to traveling distance.
