Is it silly to have an English garden themed wedding in the evening rather than the afternoon? I am getting married at an historic, garden venue and the earliest I am allowed to have the ceremony is at 5:30 p.m. (they remain open to the public until 5 p.m.) The wedding is on July 9 so it won’t be getting dark until later.
Thanks for any input on this!

no go for it. it sounds lovely and like you said, if you start at 5:30 it probably won’t even get dark until between 9 and 10 so it will be light a majority of the time.

No I think it will be lovely, we are having a similar theme (our venue is in the English countryside) and for the evening time we have lots of lanterns and candles to add to the atmosphere. And as it’s the summer you will have a few hours of daylight left by that time anyway xx

I think you will be fine with this theme and the time.
The sunrise on your wedding day will be at 6:12am in your area and set at 9:23pm.
Have a ball!

I’m also having a garden wedding, at 5pm in June. It isn’t silly at all. Do what you want!

It sounds fun and pretty. Go for it!

Absolutely do it! I’m having a similar theme and my ceremony will begin at 5pm on June 16th 2012. Both my ceremony and reception will be outdoors (tented reception).

Go for it! Our outdoor, garden-esque wedding ceremony will begin at 6:30 with an indoor reception to follow.

I don’t see why it would be a problem. And even if it does start getting dark before you’re finished, twinkle/fairy lights would make the garden look magical which is totally appropriate!
