Has anybody experienced a late or skipped period after starting to take evening primrose oil?
I began taking it for the first time on the first day of last AF for 14 days to help with CM. That was 42 days ago, I’ve never been this long without my period and I’m getting desperate for answers. All tests are bfn 🙁 Help!

I took evening primrose oil for ONE cycle – I repeat ONE cycle. What it did was essentially delay my ovulation by an entire week, and when you are TTC that really threw our timing off!! I thought for certain that I was having an annovulatory cycle until I finally noticed the temp spike indicating ovulation on my bbt chart. I was mad as a hornet because I felt like it was a completely wasted month – and it was – thanks to the evening primrose oil.
So with that being said – since I ovulated a week later than I should have, naturally my period was pushed back as well and ended up arriving a week late as well. You can ovulate at any time during your cycle – but your luteal phase (the amount of time in between ovulation and menses) will remain the about the same every time. So if you ovulated later than you should have – WAHLAH: Late period.

GonnaBeMrsB: Thanks so much for replying, that’s really helpful! I’m not charting so have no idea what’s going on unfortunately. I don’t know if it was the cause but I wish so badly that I had never taken it because now I can’t rule it out.
I’m 11 days late and keep going round and round in circles trying to work out what the reason could be.
Haven’t tested in 4 days as I was fed up of see BFN’s. Stupid EPO
