The place where I am having my reception provides an event coordinator in addition to the maitre de. We just recently received a mailing from the venue saying they encourage/welcome tipping the event coordiator assigned to your wedding. I am already paying 22% in gratuity to the venue and I was wondering what would be an acceptable dollar amount to tip this person??? Any advice??

My venue (located in lower Fairfield Country, CT) also provided an event coordinator and the maitre de. I talked to the banquet manager and he said that the tip should be $100 each at minimum (our wedding was set for 300 people). We ended up tipping $150 each…hope that helps. Keep in mind, if they do a crappy job, give less. My event coordinator and maitre de were totally en point that day and wedding flow was incredibly smooth.

I have an event coordinator as well and hadn’t really thought about giving her a big tip. I was thinking something along the lines of a thank-you note and a gift card (maybe around $50?). Maybe I’m way too low though.
