I didn’t hire a wedding planner/cordinator, but two of them came with my venue. One for the ceremony, and on for the reception. They didn’t realy help much at all, except maybe 2 weeks before the actual wedding. Even so, I was thankful for them, because they asked me about things I didn’t even think of. Simple things that would’ve been bad to forget. My Mother-In-Law caters weddings all the time, so she helped me think of those things as well… but I still am thankful that I had those wedding coordinators to assist in thinking about the small details, and assist in executing them on the day of.
