Whoa! I’ve never had it happen to me, but a few years ago, a friend of mine found out that she was dating her third cousin. That relationship ended shortly thereafter, needless to say. I felt so bad for her–talk about awkward.

I found out that the last guy I kind of dated before Fiance was probably my third cousin or something like that.  It was kind of weird, but at that degree of separation, there’s really nothing wrong with it genetically, and legally, it isn’t an issue.  We knew we weren’t at all serious anyway, so we just shrugged it off.

my sister and i have different dads and she married MY 4th cousin from MY dad’s side.

it’s like our family joke, but really they have no blood relation whatsoever.  we went to a family reunion and he was there and she instantly adored him and felt weird about it and i was like, “who cares! he’s not technically your cousin, he’s mine”

now they’re married with 2 kids lol

In high school I was totally crushing on this guy who I thought was sooo dreamy. My parents were in the process of buying me a car so they asked what I would want. My crush drove a bright blue (like electric) Dodge Neon so in my stupid 17 year old head I thought that if I got the same car as him he would “like totally notice me”. Well, I told my parents that was what I wanted (they were like “are you serious?” lol) and that’s what I got. Two epic fails resulted from this…

1. My parents totally ignored the fact that it had to be “BRIGHT BLUE” and instead decided to get me what I have since coined “teeny-bopper blue”…

2. HE WAS GAY! I ended up having to drive that teeny-bopper blue shit wagon for like 2 years until it finally died. *sigh* All for a gay guy.

That’s never happened to me before… But other things have!

One time I was supposed to meet my friend at a bar to meet the new guy she was seeing. I got there before her, and this guy starts talking to me and flirting majorly (even asked me if I wanted to go out the next day). Well my friend shows up and it turns out that the guy who was hitting on me was her new boyfriend!

BUSTED!

And yes, she dumped him that night.

@NatAndTy:  Every single guy my crazy ex-roommate had ever dated ended up being gay, with one exception.  He was bi.  It could be worse!  😛

Not exactly as bad as thinking someone you’re related to is attractive, but a good friend of mine hadn’t seen my younger (by 4 years) brother in a while. She was a Bridesmaid or Best Man, and when the shower came around, he was helping my mom bring stuff into the venue. Apparently, my Bridesmaid or Best Man asked another friend of ours who the really hot guy was. She was like, “uhh…it’s 2Peas’s brother…” Yeah, she was a little embarrassed.

@2PeasinaPod:  lol  i have a best friend from childhood (a guy) who has a little brother who is younger than us by about 8 years and i remember as a kid we would play with him (he was a todler) and now he’s like 20 or 21 and my best friend told me last year “my brother wants to do you” and i was blushing like a fucking school girl because he is a total stud now.

I had a guy who kept asking me out years ago when I was single, I mean he would not give up. I only knew is first name, then one night at the bar one of the guys called him by his last name, I about fell over laughing.  It was my mothers maiden name, there is only one family with this maiden name in this area.  Turns out he is my great uncles grand son.  I don’t know what 2nd, 3rd or what cousin he is but just gross.  Needless to say he never asked me out again, LOL.
