This is my first post! Yay!
My fiance and I are looking for a brewery in New England for our wedding reception. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, if you’ve been to a reception at a brewery, tell me what it was like! What did you like about it/not like about it? Thanks!

I’ve not done a reception, but we did rehersal dinner. It was great food and lots of fun. And we were within walking distance of our home. And any Out of Town guests were connected with the hotel. So no driving!

That sounds really neat! Sorry I don’t have any suggestions 🙁

That does sound fun!
I couldn’t find a brewery, but I did find one drawback of winery receptions – all the ones I priced out limited alcoholic beverage purchases to their own stock. No bueno for us, since many of our guests prefer beer.

We originally looked at breweries as well, but when Fiance looked at weddings that had taken place there, the pictures all had the name of the brewery/beer in them. He didn’t really like that.

I’ve never been to one but I think it sounds awesome!

I’m going to one in Atlanta this year!! Mr. Meowerson is VERY excited. Good way to get the guys pumped up.

@lauraq123: and @atalante: Both really good points. It would definitely have to be a brewery whose beer you love. I don’t have a problem with only having that beer, especially if they have a good variety of brews. One of the places that we are looking at also makes root beer and cream soda, which I think would be pretty neat. As far as having the name/logo on everything, I don’t think it would bother me too much unless we ended up at a big name brewery. If it is a small, local brewery that has a good mission (i.e. comitted to good craft beer and the community) then I don’t mind at all!

@mspuppylove: OK, microbrew rootbeer and cream soda would be awesome. Let us know how it works out if you go to see any! And pictures! 🙂
Also welcome to wedding bee!!

Fiance and I were ready to book at a brewery and we liked everything about it. Then, we had a food tasting. It just…….didn’t work out (it was gross). I think having it at a brewery would be awesome, just make sure you sample the food first before you book, as you would do with any place. Good luck!
