I found a dress that I have been dreaming up in my head online at a store that sells used/sample gowns. I don’t LOVE the top, but I wanted something with beading/lace and a more fit and flare skirt with it. This dress usually goes for around $1800 but used its $950, thinking I could see if they would take $850. BUT it would be final sale. What if I get it and don’t like it on, has anyone ever purchased one then tried to sell it back online?
I also thought I could possibly chop off the top and have the bottom made into a skirt, and go buy one of the corset/bodices from WTOO

I haven’t bought a dress out of state, but that dress is gorgeous! Have you been able to find any reviews of the company?

You said you don’t love the top. I wouldn’t recommend taking that sort of risk unless you LOVED the whole thing. There are quite a few dresses out there with a similar skirt, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find something similar you can try on first. At the very least, I hope you’ve tried on similar style dresses to make sure they look good on you.
If it helps, I ordered my dress from the UK. I researched the hell out of it, though, looking up pictures of other ladies who owned the dress, seeing how it fit them, seeing if those ladies were built like me, looking up reviews from ladies who owned that style. I measured carefully when it came to sizing, and it was still a risk that I think was worth it. However, it was a pretty universally flattering style that I was 100% in love with.
