Haha no, thankfully my coworkers aren’t annoying.

Yep. And it didn’t even work. She just walked up and started talking – only getting louder so I could hear her over the phone.

    sigh.

Yes. I’m also the girl who will pretend to text in any situation that’s even remotely awkward. haha

Haha, I’ve pretended to be texting/busy with something, for sure!  Not actually speaking into it, though.

@ProfessorGirl:  Same here — the only person I dislike enough to try this on is someone so rude it didn’t stop them!!

Yes to 1 particular person.  She’s so weird.  She will randomly come into my office area, stand outside my door and stare.  She won’t say anything and if you do look up at her she acts all dazed like “how did I end up here?”  She’s SO annoying…we do not get along.

YES! Some of us will actually call each other if we see someone taking up too much of our time with nonsense. There is one woman who just doesn’t get enough attention at home or something b/c she’s telling the same story to everyone, and you can’t get rid of her!

    All. the. time.

And it’s not just one, it’s a bunch of them; that are just loud and obnoxious and have no filters. Though I’m particularly fond of the one is who always super-duper perky and cheerful and fake-sounding and has to tell everyone about how many half marathons she’s training for and always asks me what I did over the weekend. Uhm, if I wanted to tell you, I would…but I don’t. You’re not my friend, I don’t want to share the details of my life with you.

Sigh. It feels good to get that off my chest 🙂

I used to have an agreement with a coworker to call them whenever we saw one person in particular walking towards us. I totally do the texting thing too. I was at the airport recently when someone in the security line decided she wanted to talk to me about body scanners causing cancer. I mumbled and then when she didn’t get the hint I started texting Darling Husband.

Yup, I do it all the time and so does my Darling Husband. We both work for the same company so sometimes he will call me and say stuff out of no where and I know this is his way of sounding busy to a co worker and I do the same to him. When the co worker leaves, we say thanks love and hang up. lol

There was a great line on the West Wing when CJ walks up talking to her secret service protection while he’s on a phone call, and he says: I have a phone to my ear – what does that mean to you?!

I wish so much I could say that. But she’s “fragile” and we all have to be gentle with her.

Yes.  I’ve also called other coworkers to save them when I see this person in their cube.
