    Just give the caterer inflated numbers, suck up the cost and freeze the extra food

    Assume given their behavior they won't show anyways, don't give #'s to caterer

    End all caterer worries and just tell the non-rsvping they missed the deadline

    @Vlkswgndrvr:

    I’m not going to lie there was one time my fiance and I had to go to a one of his college buddies’ wedding.  Even though I kept on reminding him to rsvp he always forgot.  Eventually I forgot to remind him and two days before the wedding he had to call his buddy to make sure it was okay if we come and of course apologize.

    I’m sorry you’re having a rough time.

    I would just give the caterer slightly inflated numbers and freeze the extra food if you can. Honestly, your reception is NOT as important as it would have been if they were actually seeing you get married, and some people can’t request the time off like that.

    It’s not “uninviting” them if they don’t rsvp. I just let them know since they haven’t replied, I am considering their answer a no.
