I’ve always loved the color of tungsten (that smoky gunmetal color) but I hated how they only made bands with either an inlaid or tension stone.
During my search for an engagement ring, I fell in love with this one but the jeweler said they no longer made the polished blackened silver finish due to issues with durability and I don’t really like the matte blackened silver 🙁
So I went off to find another ring… I was still obsessing over the dark polished look when I stumbled upon black gold! I only really found a few stores online that it like Liori Diamonds and Jewelry Garo on etsy (which looks like they bit of Liori’s logo btw). Anyways, I actually fell in love with the ring below.
I tried looking up black gold but other than a small wikipedia blurb, I haven’t been able to find much. My searches are mostly filled with sites about oil and soil. But, it’s supposedly legit.
So ladies… have you ever heard of and/or gotten a black gold ring? Do you know anyone who has? If so, how is it’s durability over the years and do you like it?
Feel free to comment on what you think of the rings and black gold also 🙂

I wonder what makes it black? I’ve heard of Black HILLS gold, but never heard of straight up black gold. Interesting!

I think Kris Humphires’ *rolls eyes* ring was black gold with black diamonds.

Very cool! I just looked it up. I thought blue and purple golds were kind of interesting too. Too bad they shatter, or they’d be gorgeous!

Shane Company carries black gold. I’m not sure how extensive their line is, but I’ve had my eye on a black gold/rose gold pearl necklace from there. SO PRETTY! And unique too!

Wow that is really cool. I wouldn’t want that for one of my rings, but my Fiance would love that. Maybe I’ll get him a RHR in black gold.
