I haven’t started trying anything on yet, since Im not getting married until June, but I’ve been doing plenty of window shopping online. Of course, today I found a designer that has not one, but THREE dresses I really really like!! I want to try them on SOOOO MUCH!
Alas, I am in Canada… and the dresses are in London . Insult to injury – they are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!! like… $3000 plus!
le sigh… I just needed to share them, because they are so darn pretty.
Stephanie Allin designs!
“The Bardot” -love the shrug!
And, the amazing “Nina Short”
Im hoping I can find some local similar type dresses around here to try on. maybe if I’m bold enough I will send one of these to an online dressmaker? eeeek….

I love those dresses! Gorgeous! Yes I would suggest you trying to track these dresses down and trying them on first to be able to narrow your decision.

lindseyl06, I went to the Stephanie Allin Website to see if they had and stock sent to Canada… no such luck unfortunately. Closest store is 12 hour drive away in Virginia Beach! haha. but since I haven’t tried ANYTHING on yet, I have no idea if the tea length silhouette will even look good on me. But I’m having a casual backyard wedding with the reception at a carnival and old timey firehall, so I want something fun and flirty! I love the Nina so much, but I think the Bardot may be more “copy-able”.. it looks a little simpler.

You could always have a replica made but you should probably try on similar styles to make sure the dress loves you back!

definitely. I think I am going to wait until October to start trying things on, although I’m starting to get bored/excited with not doing much – A year and a half feels like a long engagement to me! other than needing time to save money (which we desperately need to do), I feel like there is SO much time to do everything else, ha. I hope I don’t procrastinate too long!

wow, those are all so gorgeous!

Yep, Stephanie Allin is amazing. 🙂 I was eyeing off the Bardot for ages (still love it).
I totally get what you mean about not being able to try on the dresses you love in your city. I fell in love with an Alvina Valenta, which wasn’t available anywhere in Australia. Ended up ordering it through a bridal salon in NYC anyways, and since they don’t ship overseas I’m picking it up in 2 days when I go to New York on vacation (which was planned beforehand). Eeek!
Have fun trying on dresses when you do start! 🙂

Marie2013 I know right!! These are the first dresses I’ve actually been really excited about!!
@anyday, wow you are bold!! How did you know if it will suit you.. did you try on a similar style of something else at home before you ordered? I would love to see a photo of it when you get it! So exciting, I hope it works out for you!
