If you want something light weight why not try Bare Minerals? It is very light weight and doens’t clog pores. I became a believer several years ago. If you go into a Sephora they will provide a sample of anything for you to try first.

Bare Minerals also makes an amazing mascara called Buxom, adds length and volume.

Making my first post to help out a fellow green eyed blonde.. πŸ™‚

I’m naturally blonde and reallly pale, so wearing black eyeliner is way too much for me. I prefer a chocolate brown. Make Up Forever and Urban Decay make really nice pencils. But honestly I don’t wear eyeliner very often and just wear super black mascara…but my eyelashes are pretty long/dark naturally (yay!).

I’m also a big fan of tinted moisturizer for foundation, and blotting sheets to reduce shine. I hate powder, it always looks cakey on me because my skin is uneven.

Also, for higher end brands if you want to play around with color I would recommend MAC/UrbanDecay. If you are more into neutrals/girly colors I love Smashbox and TooFaced. And more pricey but makes gorgeous blushes/lipsticks is NARs. =)

I’m a Mary Kay rep so I’d highly suggest Mary Kay πŸ™‚ Also, Urban Decay makes my favorite liquid eyeliner (it has a soft brush so it’s really easy to use!). Mary Kay and Urban Decay stay on all day. I have dark hair and green eyes, and I wear eyeliner every day otherwise I look really washed out.

I LOVE Almay liquid eye liner. It does not smudge at all!

For powder I use Glomineral.  and for eyeshadow I think the important thing is a good base πŸ™‚

I am a fan of bare essentuals. I love how light it is and what good things it has done for my skin. I use everything from them (i have sensitive skin, and allergies to most chemicals in makeup). They have tons of eyeshadow colors, and if you go into one of their locations their staff is very knowledgable and patient. I absolutely love their powdered eyeliner. It was the first product I ever purchased from them. It stays in place through everything. I used to be a camp counselor/director and it was the only thing I never had to reapply. They have a great mascara as well. It was the best money I ever spent. In fact I am going by there tonight when I get off to resupply.

um ok.. for me, if I don’t use a lid primer/base my eyeshadow smears. It won’t even last an hour no matter the brand..expensive non expensive.

& I love liquid eye liner, the one from Almay last all day and does not smear like pencil liner. It also comes with a felt tip instead of a brush so it’s easier to apply.

I just bought the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and wow…it’s about a hundred times better than any other primer I’ve tried. So I’d definitely join the others in recommending that, for one.

Also my friend just got me hooked on Maybelline Line Stiletto eyeliner. It goes on easily and stays put for ages. She looks phenomenal in it and she’s a blue-eyed blonde.

I like Benefit waterproof eyeliner and CoverGirl waterproof mascara.

I’m not so much a believer in high end makeup, just high end tools.  I use Loreal foundation and CoverGirl loose powder, but I apply the foundation with a brush.  It looks so much better than with a sponge!!

Make sure you wear a primer underneath your eyeshadow to make it stay in place.  I use a Merle Norman primer that I got years ago for $8.  Lasts forever.

For blue eyes this is what I’d recommend:

Eyeliner – soft, chocolate brown

Mascara – Brown or brown/black

Eyeshadow – Soft pink/champagne (Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy) towards the inside of your eyelid, with a slightly darker brown on the outside (Urban Decay Chopper).

If your eyes are more green than blue, you can play with plums.  You can still use the same scheme above.  I like a plum eyeliner, with a light shadow like above, but use plum (Urban Decay Last Call) instead of brown on the outside of the eye.  Also, try a black mascara on top and a plum mascara on the bottom lashes. (Almay used to make a nice plum mascara.)

You’re going to want to apply the light shadow into area 1, and the dark one in 3.  Blend out to #2.

This liquid is pretty foolproof. You just have to not blink really hard until it dries (sounds weird, but true). You can always practice on your hand or something until you get comfortable with it πŸ™‚
