Problem is, they are SAVE THE DATES! LOL!
I mean really, does anyone send out invitations that far in advance? Okay I’m sure there are times… but in general!?
The only one close was my insane mom… who commented on the “unique and pretty announcement thingy you sent”… so she’s at least not mistaking it for an invitation.

Do you have a picture of your save the date? Lol, I’m curious now.

did you write invitation to follow on them?

Congratulations on the rave reveiws!!!
I got rave reveiws on my save-the-dates too, and almost everyone thought they were the invitations, even though they didn’t have all of the information that goes on an invitations.
Silly people 🙂

People commented that mine was funny. It had flying pigs on it. My Fiance and I have been dating FOREVER. Only one person, that I know of, thought it was our invitations. Our Best Man. He called to let us know that we forgot to add RSVP instructions, and that we were lucky he is calling in to RSVP and that we might not be so lucky with the others.
There were 4 lines on our STD postcards. The last line said: Formal Invitation to Follow. I guess he didn’t read far down enough. Nice of him to let us know he was coming though. He’s Best Man. I sure hope so!

LOL! We had that happen to us too…even though there was some big ‘ol lettering on it that said “Save the Date”. We heard a lot of comments like, “Well, I got the invitation, but where’s the actual wedding?? It didn’t say”. *blink* *blink* Uuuh, yeeeah…it said “formal invitation to follow”. My goodness…

@Lassroyale: No pics at the moment but they’re pretty simple.. one rectangular card, pale pink with blue trim. On he front is a little cutout bouquet with a cutout tag that was pre-printed with the words “Save the date” on it. Then a relevant 2 line quotation, then how we are getting married March 19, 2011 in Iowa, and then “formal invitation to follow” and a bit of info on how to get details in the meantime by calling or visiting our wedding website. Heck, I thought it was pretty simple and to the point but I guess not! lol!
@MandaMack: Yep! 🙂
@noritake22: It is funny. I guess many of those I sent it to haven’t received Save-The-Date Cards before? I suppose? I don’t know.
@baldor1: That’s funny… I kind of expect guys to not read all the way through anything. That’s probably sexist of me, I know.
@CaraMia10: I wonder if these same people will be thinking (when they get the actual invite) that we just sent out invites twice?? lol!
