can someone give you a temporary loan until you get the money together? check your contract – they probably have the right to cancel. did you tell the venue about the trouble? they might be willing to work with you.

@mrtnza: I’d read your contract closely, mine says “Should a deposit not be received on a timely basis, The [venue] shall have the option at its sole discretion to cancel such reservation in whole or in part with no further obligation”

@mrtnza: Sorry your Fiance is unemployed. I suggest calling your venue and letting them know what is happening. I am sure they will let you make arrangements to pay on a different date. Check your contract to see what it says about late payments. You might be able to push the payments to a date that would coincide with your getting your taxes back. The worst thing you can do though is to not contact them to give them a heads up and try to work something out.

You’re not the only one having..technical difficulties. My mom phoned me this morning to tell me that her & my dad are going overseas for a trip..that will fall on our wedding date. Yeah, thanks mom, so nice to know you care.

Aw I’m so sorry to hear that 🙁 

I work in the event industry and most venues are willing to work with you if you just call them and discuss it. They normally will only have to cancel it if another person inquires about your specific date and is willing to pay immediately. Just communicate with them and I’m sure they’ll be willing to help.

I would call your venue and give them a heads up. Ignoring it won’t do any good.

Is there something maybe they can take off or downgrade to work with you?

We talked to our venue if something happened and they said they would work with us. I would def call and try to work something out.
