Well, in three weeks time I will be a married woman! Our engagement has been somewhat of a whirlwind: it will have been exactly six months from the day he proposed to the day we wed, and in between we have bought a house, he has moved to a new city, and my move just before the wedding will bring to a close our three and a half year LDR. I’m excited to say that things seem to be coming together nicely, and I thought I’d take the time to show off some of the wedding details.
Here is my look for the day, including jewelry, purse, and shoes. I made the veil and garters myself. I’m not at all planning on doing a garter toss, but I thought that they could be fun to wear as a something blue and a surprise for my Fiance.
I sewed the dresses for my bridesmaids, which turned out to be quite a bit of work, but I am fairly happy with how they turned out. For gifts, I bought the girls pashminas to keep warm, cozy robes from La Vie en Rose, and I also found cute emery boards in my colours!
For the guestbook, I had a photobook printed at London Drugs with various photos taken of us over the years. I left pages blank for people to sign. I was very impressed with how easy it was to put together and the quality. Also shown are the vases to hold our bouquets at the reception, topiaries to decorate the guestbook/ gift table, and my card box which is a decorative box I found at Michaels. It has a magnetic closure, and I added a bit of ribbon to keep the lid suspended open. I made the topiaries so that I could use them as decor in our new house, and I figure that the cardbox will be useful later as a knick knack box.
I haven’t pictured our centrepieces because I won’t be making them until the day before the wedding. We plan on using dragonfruit in glass bowls as centrepieces which double as favours. I will tie a label with our guest’s names to each one. We are able to get the fruit at wholesale prices due to a work connection, but it would be kind of pricy to do a dry run. I do hope it works out well!
Please feel free to post your own pictures and details. I know we all love to look at pretty pictures! Is anyone else going to miss all the shopping and creating that is involved in wedding planning?

You wedding is going to be awesome 🙂
I am 3 days before you, so I know what you are feeling right now. I am going to fill in the void of not creating and planning our wedding after we get married with helping other brides create and plan for their wedding, so I hope to stay pretty busy with that.
I love your look. I also made my girls dresses for them. It was a lot less expensive than trying to purchase the look I want ready made. And, like you, we are also using a decorative box for our card box; also purchased at Michaels 🙂
This weekend I am finishing up our vows, place cards, and menus; hopefully. I need another mat for my Cricut before I can complete the place cards, but I will pick that up tomorrow. I don’t have any current inspiration pictures of what we are doing. It seems like things have changed so much since we started the planning process.
I also have a meeting with the photographer this Friday to finalize the “must have” pictures, and I still have to get our “must have” songs to the DJ. Oh, and I also have to pick up some nonalchoholic drinks for the guests that don’t drink. I am sure there is something that I am missing, but for the most part, I think we are on track.

@noritake22: thank you! My Fiance kept questioning why we even needed a colour scheme, but I think it helps to tie things together.
I am in awe of how many incredible projects you’ve done. Did you have a long engagement?

@kayakblondie: Everything looks so great, and I’m amazed that you made the bridesmaids dresses! I can’t say I’ll miss the numerous trips to Michael’s for crafts, but that may change when we buy a house. I think the crafting bug will bite me again.

@elephant: I hear you on the Michaels trips! I made maximum use of coupons so sometimes I was going twice a day.

@kayakblondie: You are very welcome 🙂
And thank you. Yes, we were officially engaged March 31 or April 1 of 2009. The date depends on which of us you ask 🙂

OMG great job on everything! I love the bouquet…can you tell me how you did it?

@ratana187: Thanks! The bouquets are just inspiration pics for the general idea, I will have the florist make something close to that. The topiaries I did make, I posted about them here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/diy-flower-topiaries
@noritake22: Yes, I guess that would leave lots of time for projects, what fun!

Yay! We’re date twins so I know how you’re feeling too. I love your colors. Even after a few bumps in planning, all I have left is to finalize a few things this week and then pay for the food 4 days before the wedding and I’m done. I’m excited and nervous and can’t believe it’s only 3 weeks away.
