I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Have you done your taxes yet? If you itemize, you can get more back. That might help. If you itemize they aren’t submitting to the IRS until the middle of February, but it should only take a couple of weeks to get the refund. Also, is there anything else you can cut back on? Maybe see if the caterer can come up with a more budget friendly menu, if you are hiring a DJ, maybe put a playlist together and do an iPod. If you haven’t got your invitations yet, search for Joanns and Michaels coupons, so you can get 40% to 50% off on their kits. If you have been contemplating favors, skip those, unless you can find something that is really budget friendly. Most of your guests won’t miss them.

Well, it seems like you are already doing everything you can. For the candy bar though, I have noticed that there are sales going on right now, so you might want to keep your eye out for the things you like. I guess this is one time that I can count our blessings that we are having a very small wedding. It is an expensive wedding, but if it was any bigger, I don’t think we could do it the way we are. Try not to worry, everything will work out. It seems like your families are pulling together for you, so that is a good thing 🙂

I’m sorry things are so stressful! I don’t know what’s going on with your brother but if he’s walking you down the aisle, it sounds as though he’s pretty important to you… and if he’s having a baby with someone- she’s probably pretty important too…. Sooo at the risk of upsetting you- I think that you should probably invite her. I know money is tight but 35$ in the grand scheme of things probably isn’t worth upsetting your brother and potentially causing A LOT of family drama.

I agree with Noritake22- There are a lot of places to cut corners- you don’t have to do favors- Def use coupon codes etc. and lastly, your taxes could be a big help! I hope that things work out! Good Luck!

Can you get a part time job at a fancy restaurant to help pay for it?  That is what I did last year, working only a few nights a week for only a few hours, I was able to make 3000 in three months.  (It helped that the average bill was $150, 20% gratuity was $30, 6 – 8 tables a night, equals average $200 per night)

If you have a worksource in your area, they may be able to help you. They place people in jobs and also pay for them to go to school. If you have other temp agencies in your area, you could check them out too. A lot of times, you can get a temp job that is several months to a year long and maybe get a permanent job out of it.
