- Wedding: September 2011
In need of some help, but it requires a little backstory. I will be as brief as possible while still getting the general question across!
So my fiancé asked one of my best guy friends to be the 4th groomsman for our wedding, the reasoning being “if I had a female friend as close as you guys are I know you’d do the same for me, I wanted to include him in our day as OUR friend now.” Fast forward over a year later and 2 months out from our wedding, this groomsman got himself a girlfriend (only together 3 months) and once she met us she decided she didn’t like us so he bailed on the wedding. (I should throw in a quick hilarious part of the story for all of you who need a laugh: we met her when the four of us and one other couple went to dinner at TGI Friday’s… and she FELL ASLEEP AT THE TABLE HEAD BACK, MOUTH OPEN, FOR OVER AN HOUR.. and then called my fiancé and I rude because we didn’t try to get to know her..)
ANYWAY – we sent him and invitation anyway because at the time there were no hard feelings, but now within the past month there has been no contact and his girlfriend has been bad mouthing me and my fiancé.
Is it awful if I get in contact with him and let him know he is of course invited but without the girlfriend? I don’t want anyone at our wedding that’s going to act like a child…
