betyl :  thanks!! I loved that set too. I’m engaged now (second marriage) and this time around I ended up with the emerald cut I’ve always dreamed of, and I suspect I’ll pick a wide-ish band this time as well.

My Ering ban is 2mm with a taper and my wedding band is 4mm. I have a couple cheapies I switch it out with to get a different look now and then, but I wear this one 90% of the time. Funnily enough, somewhat similar to OP, my husband was indifferent about what I would get for a wedding band for a long time, then decided kind of last minute it was important to him that our bands matched haha

My e-ring is super thin compared to my wedding band, I was a little bit nervous pairing them that way at first but I honestly love the contrast between the two.  The only thing that bothers me is the quality of the small diamonds on my wedding band is horrible in comparison to my e-ring diamond haha but oh well

l like it, but l like the thicker ones too. All l really wanted to say though, is l do hope you don’t alter it to ‘accomodate ‘ your engagement ring, or even buy one ready curved to fit it. Obviously people can do exactly as they like, but l am of the opinion the wedding ring is too important to be made to ‘accomodate ‘ or merely enhance the engagement ring .

I think the problem with your set is the gap. The gap makes them looked un-planned and like they don’t go together (because they don’t). I know some people love gaps, but to me it always looks like you focused too much on the engagement ring and that the wedding ring was just an after thought. If the rings sits flush there’s a better chance they’ll look good even if they dont match perfectly. – Because rings is such a sensitive subject on this forum I might add that these are personal opinions and you can do as you please.

As for matching bands – it was a no-brainer for me and my partner. We just think it feels more like a connection and representation of the “us” than having different ones. His will be a bit thicker, though, roughly the width of both my rings together.

I’m a big fan of mixing up widths, but I’ve reversed mine, Ering is about 5, bands are about 1.5/2mm.

Personally, as someone who doesn’t like a stacked jewelry look, I’m planning to move my engagement ring to my right hand after I’m married. Maybe you can try something similar, if the difference of band thickness bothers you.

I’m. Interested in seeing a 1ct ering with a 6mm plain wedding band if any out there
