Did anyone go the Excellence in Punta Cana for their honeymoon? We have narrowed it down and I think this is the resort my Fiance and I have decided on but I just wanted to see if anyone had any information to put my mind at ease on whether we are choosing good resort or not. I have heard that at All inclusives in general sometimes it can be hard to get resesrvations at the different restaurants and it can be hard to find pool or beach chairs. Did anyone that has visited the Excellence have a problem with either of these things? These two things are the most important things to me as thats all I really plan on doing on our homeymoon is to lay by the pool or ocean and EAT! I also wanted to know if anyone had payed the extra money for the Excellence club and thought it was worth it or not. Thanks so much!

Hey! You’re pretty much my wedding twin, lol, well I’m the 24th April, two days before you. also thinking about Excellent Punta Canna for our honneymoon, so I might see you there. Never stayed all inclusive before, so am keen to see what it’s all about. Sorry, i’m not any help, but maybe bumping the thread will help (unless you’ve already booked somewhere else, if so, please ignore :))

I can’t really give any advice on Excellene in Punta Cana, but I have stayed at Excellence Riviera Cancun in Mexico and LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! Fiance and I have been there 3 times and the Excellence resorts are amazing. They are all beautiful with great food and drinks. There is also no reservations required at any of the restaurants, which is great when you just want to relax and have no schedule. They are all also adults only which is great for a honeymoon! I know there are only 3 Excellence resorts total and they all have a great reputation. As for the Excellence club, we have never splurged for it but my parents have for their anniversary last year and they said it was totally worth it. There are little extras in the rooms that the normal rooms don’t get (like bottles of liquor, wine, extra snacks, and upgraded bathroom stuff). There is also a private lounge only for Excellence club that has a computer lab, private bar, snacks all day, etc. Again…this stuff was for ERC in Mexico but I believe all 3 of the resorts are all the same (mom and dad also stayed at Playa Mujeres in Mexico and it was the same). Hope this helps a little!

Most higher-end resorts like Excellence Punta Cana do not require dinner reservations. It’s more first come, first served as they don’t have set seating times like lower-end resorts. Excellence Clubs are typically worth the extra money, ad are room categories that give great features like your own rooftop terrace with Jacuzzi or plunge pool.
