Should we pre-reserve anything before we arrive to Excellence Punta Cana? This is our honeymoon and I noticed on the special offers thing they offer a honeymoon package and it includes a champagne breakfast that need to make reservation for but I don’t know how early that needs to be made. I did not know if there was anything else we should look at before we arrive. Any excursions or meals, etc.?
Also, on our last day, how long can we stay at the resort? We will actually move to another hotel for our last night since we have an early flight so it made better sense. Obviously, we woudln’t stay through dinner but is there any reason we couldn’t stay through lunch or into the afternoon?

I stayed at this resort 2 years ago this month. We didn’t book anything in advance. All excursions can easily be made there (there are lots of people who are very eager to make these bookings for you on the spot). As for the honeymoon package, we didn’t do anything like that, but again, all of this stuff can be booked on the spot. You don’t need to book in advance if you don’t want to.
As for the last day, we vacated our room, had lunch, and then left around 1 or 2, I think. Normal hotel check-out policies apply, so you need to be out by 11 or 12ish unless you make other arrangements with them.
Have fun! We loved our time there.

We stayed there for my 21st a few years ago- it was AMAZING. We got given an anniversary package so sightly different from the honeymoon one but we still had the champagne breakfast and it was great so definitely do that. We didnt book anything before we got there and all the restaurants are available every night so you just turn up on the night. Also the free room service is all great quality. You can book one night for your special honeymoon meal if you tell them which restaurant you want it at and they give you a different menu, special table and sprinkle petals on the table haha. We had ours at the Japenese/Indian restaurant and that was great.
Make sure when you arrive to book onto your free horseride along the beach (its free but you have to tell the desk what time and day you want to do it on). Other than that we did see some tables set up on the beach one night for a romantic sunset meal – maybe you can book onto this or it may be a honeymoon only option because we never saw how to do it, only that the tables looked great and we wished we could eat there. My only other tip is to eat breakfast at the lobster restaurant rather than the buffet- we didnt know until we ate there on our last morning and it was amazing. Its a hut overlooking the beach and they cook all your breakfast fresh for you from a menu. We wished we’d eaten there every day for breakfast.
For the last day, we were picked up at about 11.30am so we just checked out and sat in the lobby with cocktails but they will keep your luggage safe for you if you wanted to leave mid-afternoon after checking out. It really is a great hotel and the staff are great, really friendly and helpful so if theres anything you want them to do for you just ask and they are more than accomodating. One waitor remembered our drinks orders from the night before and came to find us the next morning on the beach with drinks and we were like wow so nice! Then we got back to our room and the same guy had left us some champagne by the bathtub! We dont usually tip at resorts because they tell you not to but we had to give this guy a small tip just to say thankyou and the next day he left US a thankyou note!
Sorry for the long message. I just really loved this hotel!

I haven’t stayed at EPC but I’ve stayed at ERC (2009) and EPM (2014). I believe check out is at 11 am unless you have paid for am extended check-out, so you must vacate your room by that time. However, you are free to use the resort facilities (bars, restaurants and pools) for as long as you wish, so you can stay as late as you like.
In terms of making reservations and booking trips, I would reserve the champagne breakfast the day or day after you arrive. We kind of forgot and they still did it with less than 12 hours notice, but you’re supposed to reserve it at least 24 hours in advance. I would also leave booking any trips and excursions until you arrive as then you can see how you feel when you get there/what the weather’s like/how much you want to do.

Hello ALSWM — I am glad to hear you booked your honeymoon to Excellence Punta Cana, you will love it! We always recommend pre-booking your transfers (in your case all 3; airport>hotel, hotel>hotel, and hotel>airport). Having a pre-booked transfer service allows you to have peace of mind, you don’t have to worry about how you are getting around on the island and you don’t have to worry about the reliability of the taxi services and if you will make it back to the airport for your return flight on time. More time to spend enjoying your honeymoon in paradise! Excursions are always best pre-booked so you have vouchers in hand before you depart and will have an idea of times, dates, and if anything special is required for the excursion. This will also allow you to know that you are with a reputable tour company and that you don’t get swiped into a timeshare presentation (which is not a fun way to spend your honeymoon). <br />As for honeymoon amenities, we advise that you book them with the resort the day you arrive with the concierge service on site.
